NEW YORK, USA (AVING) -- <Visual News> Sony has been enjoying top position in worldwide LCD TV market from year 2005 throughout the first quarter of 2006, according to Masahiro Miura, VP of Operations of Pan Asia of Sony, during his presentation about ‘Sony TV in global market’ at ‘Bravia X series’ launching show in Seoul, Korea.

LCD TV will have taken more than 20% of overall TV shipments and 60% of TV revenues by the end of 2006, he said, adding that 75% of global TV revenues will come from LCD TV in 2008. He also noted that 30- to 34-inch models has driven the growth of LCD TV market whereas 40-and-above segment is gaining more popularity in Japan and Korea market, which will be the key area of focus for Sony.
