Sony named a CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award winner

LAS VEGAS, USA (AVING Special Report on 'CES 2011') -- <Visual News> Sony has been named an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for Sony Internet TV powered by Google TV(model: GT1 Series) and Sony alpha digital SLR camera(model: SLT-A55V). They will be displayed at the 2011 International CES, which runs Jan. 6-9, 2011 in Las Vegas.

Sony Internet TV powered by Google TV is the world's first television with the ability to watch HDTV, enjoy apps, and browse the Internet seamlessly on one device. The combination of Sony's hardware and engineering expertise and Google's understanding of open software provides a unique user experience, merging multiple content sources in one easy-to-use interface.

The Sony alpha camera adopts Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology, which achieves the highest-level of auto focus speed for both still image and movie shooting. Translucent Mirror Technology provides performance previously unattainable with traditional DSLR technology.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. It is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES, the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow.
