Silverstar Chemical is a company that specializes in producing polyamide hot melt adhesives based on dimeric acid. Polyamide is a product that can be applied to various markets such as automobile manufacturing, pavement, road business, woodworking, and the LPM market. Silverstar Chemical strives to develop and produce products that meet the needs of customers through its R&D center and builds production facilities that can produce more than 3,000MT of products annually so that customers can meet the lead time they want.

Silverstar Chemical's target is existing customers who use hot melt, especially polyamide. It is striving to replace existing polyamide-based products (Henkel, Boston, Kraton, etc.). Some of Silverstar Chemical's export products are used in preformed road marking products, focusing on expanding the road marking market.

A Silverstar Chemical official said, "Most of the polyamide used in Korea relied on imported products. Silverstar Chemical has tried and succeeded in localizing polyamide hot melt adhesives to address this imbalance." "The polyamide hot melt adhesive is similar to the stick that is used with glue guns. Various shapes are manufactured, so they can be produced according to customer needs such as stick type, kernel type, and block type. Polyamide can fill the areas that existing hot melt (EVA, PO, PE) could not implement because it has superior adhesion and ease of working temperature compared to existing hot melt products, they said.

Unlike other polyamides hot melt adhesive manufacturers, Silverstar Chemical products differentiate themselves from other manufacturers and distributors because they can manufacture polyamide to meet the needs desired by customers. Unlike other hot melt adhesives, polyamide has excellent flame retardancy and self-extinguishing properties. The flame retardant part is known as a material that does not catch fire with a V0 grade.

“Recently, eco-friendly and carbon reduction have become issues around the world, and many companies are trying to solve related issues. Silverstar Chemical is also focusing on developing eco-friendly and carbon-reducing products. If eco-certified products are developed, I think it will be an opportunity to pioneer another market," they added.

Meanwhile, the 2021 K-Chemicals Cyber Exhibition, an online exhibition in the field of chemistry, opened in March and is always in operation, and currently has 270 chemical-related companies.
