SEOUL FOOD 2019 opens in KINTEX on 21st to show the latest food trend

Korea's largest and one of four major food industry show in Asia began May 21. It's SEOUL FOOD 2019 in Kintex.

SEOUL FOOD is being held to build the global value chain in the overall food industry and provide support for the export of Korea's food SMEs.

The show is mainly divided into food and food equipment. In Kintex Hall 1 where food items will be displayed, agricultural, fishery and processed food, food material and additives, health functional and organic food, dessert and beverages and HORECA equipment will be exhibited. In Kintex Hall 2, packaging and food equipment will be exhibited.

At the opening event "2019 Global Food Trend & Tech Conference" held on May 21, insights that can view the past, present and future of the global food trend and tech industry were provided. It consisted of three sessions titled Innovation, Insight and Market, and lectures were given by global food industry leaders including Patrick Mannion from Innova Market Insights, the world's largest food industry research institute.

Also, overseas buyer export consultation with the invitation of 840 outstanding overseas buyers selected by 124 KOTRA overseas trade agencies and 400 Korean companies having 2,100 1:1 export consultation proves that SEOUL FOOD is Korea's only B2B food trade show.

In addition, Seoul Food Awards 2019 will be held to discover and promote outstanding food in Korea and abroad. Especially for this year, Wine Tasting Pavillion will be set up to introduce foreign winery, helping to expand the global business network for Korean food companies.

In Seoul Food Job Fair 2019, 30 domestic and overseas food companies and 500 jobseekers will attend to aid in creating jobs in the food industry.

In addition, a variety of presentations like Food Journal's "Sustainable Growth Strategy for Big Data Food Industry", Food and Beverage News's "2019 World Food Market Entering Solution", Euromonitor's "Global Food Innovation", and HMR Association's "HMR New Product Presentation" will take place.

KOTRA CEO Pyeong-oh Kwon said, "With the upcoming of the Industry 4.0, the topics of the global food industry is shifting to advancement, innovation and convergence. This year with diverse program, SEOUL FOOD is wishing to acquire the global business creating opportunities for the Korean food companies."
