[Preview 4YFN] Baro Participates in '4YFN' with a Posture Recognition Robot, 'Baro'

‘Baro’, supported by the Smart Venture Campus participates in ‘4YFN (4 Years From Now)’, a global start-up fair jointly held with MWC 2018, to introduce a smart futon and a posture recognition robot ‘Baro’, from Feb. 26(Mon) to Feb. 28(Wed).

‘BEST OF MIK @ 4YFN’ selected only excellent companies among ‘4YFN’ exhibitors, and selected companies will be given opportunities to press pitch with foreign journalists such as USA, China and Germany. Furthermore, it becomes the subject of Top3 selected.

Since February 2017, Baro has been developing smart futons and robots that recognize posture, and aim to launch and ship products in 2018.

The robot 'Baro' moves along the user's posture, recognizing the wrong posture in a more positive way and helping him to sit upright. It also provides a custom solution through the application and motivates it to form the right habit. Unlike conventional posture correction related products, it does not provide any physical feedback and allows users to visually confirm their posture.

An official said, "We will provide various contents and feedback that will help us to develop proper posture habits after launching future products. After that, we plan to provide various feedbacks to the seated people while keeping the right posture as a platform using speakers.” He also presented the future plan, saying, "Based on the DB, we will make the service more helpful to the customer. Global sales will begin in the second half of 2019.”

"If other companies have already released smart device products, we would like them to consider ways to link them with 'Baro’," said Woo Jung-bum, CEO of Baro.

On the other hand, the Smart Venture Campus, which is in the process of supporting companies, runs a variety of projects to discover and nurture talented young CEOs and specialists in the areas of apps, web, contents, SW, and convergence.
