POINT&EDGE Showcases ‘MONITOR ROCK’ at the 2021 K-Chemicals Cyber Exhibition

POINT&EDGE Co., Ltd. (CEO Je-wook Jeong) participated in the 2021 K-Chemicals Cyber Exhibition.

POINT&EDGE INC. is an idea-based IT device accessory brand. The word ‘point’ of “POINT&EDGE” means our idea or emotion, and ‘edge’ means the appearance of containing ideas, that is, design. Based on e-commerce, they are receiving positive responses from Amazon in the United States and Japan.

‘MONITOR ROCK’, a monitor stand introduced through this exhibition, is a product that is simple with a solid marble motif and features a curve at the corner. Marble is usually used for building finishes, sculptures, and decorations, and is difficult to be widely used by the public as expensive materials, but the ‘MONITOR ROCK’ was developed with the aim of “implementing marble’s unique look in general office supplies.” In particular, the monitor stand goes well with the marble image because robustness is more important than anything else.

Existing monitor stands need to be assembled and often have several parts, which may cause inconvenience or gaps in the assembly. In the case of glass or wood, customers’ preferences are divided a lot because there are advantages and disadvantages for each material. However, since the ‘MONITOR ROCK’ has an integral injection structure, assembly is unnecessary, and it is stronger.

In general, plastic products are characterized by reducing the thickness and reducing material costs by setting up supports, but monitor locks are differentiated by increasing thickness and removing supports. Through the 5.5mm product thickness that cannot be found in commercial products, the look of natural marble can be given with its unique heaviness and simple design.

Furthermore, it is 3cm wider than the average width of 20cm so that monitors of 27 inches or more can be sufficiently raised in line with the recent trend of enlargement of displays. An official from POINT & EDGE said, “We hope to enter large overseas distribution stores such as Costco in the future, and we are also planning OEM products to facilitate supply to related companies.”

Meanwhile, the 2021 K-Chemicals Cyber Exhibition, an online exhibition in the field of chemistry, opened in March and is always in operation, and currently has 270 chemical-related companies. It supports overseas marketing of domestic companies in a contact-free manner and boasts the largest scale in Korea where you can see various product information of industrial chemicals (paint, adhesive, surfactant, MDI, Polybutene, polyol, catalyst, foaming agent, additives, pipes, living plastics, additives, etc.) and cosmetics (sunblock, lotion, shampoo, face masks, etc.).

The chemical industry is closely linked to major industries such as electronics and automobiles and is especially at the center of the global issue of carbon neutrality. In line with this, the Korea Precision Chemical Industry Promotion Association (KSCIA), the organizer, is helping domestic chemical companies advance overseas through various support such as export, research and analysis, technical standards, HDR support, and international agreements. Based on companies entering online permanent exhibition halls in the chemical sector, it has accumulated more than $136 million in 2021 as of the third quarter and is holding online export consultations with KOTRA in addition to entering the online permanent exhibition hall.
