[Pangyo Tech] SK Chemical’s “sustainable management report” to win a gold prize at the LACP vision award

SK Chemical announced on the 15th that its sustainable management report published in July was awarded a gold prize at the “2020 LACP Vision Awards”.

“LACP Vision Awards” is an award that is given by LACP·League of American Communications Professionals, a global PR and marketing research institute from 2002. “LACP Vision Awards” awards prizes by evaluating a sustainable management report, an annual report and a CSR report of fortune 500 companies as well as government agencies and non-profit organizations. Every year, about 1,000 reports published in 20 countries around the world go through fierce competition.

SK Chemical’s “2020 sustainable management report“ won a gold prize in chemical industry. The report earned the highest score in six among eight areas including first impression, cover design, a message to stakeholders, description capabilities, financial reporting, creativity of a message and access to information being listed in the top 80 in the Asia Pacific region. Also, it received a technical achievement award and chosen as the top 20 report in South Korea at the same time.

SK Chemical publishes a sustainable management report annually from 2010 in order to disclose the company’s will and accomplishments on sustainable management transparently to various stakeholders including clients. The report stated ESG management strategies and indicated focus areas of promotion and 2030 ESG goals as well as description and quantitative data centered around ESG issues.

Park Jong-Hyun management support director of SK Chemical said, “as the stepping stone towards a global leading company that provides environmentally-friendly materials and total healthcare solution, we would mark 2021 as the first year of ESG management and become a leading company in sustainable management.”

Pangyo Technovalley is an innovation hub for global companies comparable to the Silicon Valley in the US, Zhongguancun in China, and STATION F in France. It is an Asia tech hub with 1,259 IT, BT, CT, and NT companies that possess innovative products and technologies. Located just south of the metropolitan area, it provides the best environment for Korean companies to do business with great transportation access and infrastructure.

Various high-tech companies are located in Pangyo Technovalley, and it is occupied by 64,000 full-time employees, many in their 20-30s. In terms of industry, the companies are engaged in information technology, contents technology, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.

With the support of innovative companies with global capabilities such as Kakao, Naver, AhnLab, Krafton, NCSoft, Nexon, and Hancom, companies in Pangyo Technovalley recorded 107 trillion won in sales last year. Investment and infrastructure growth in Pangyo is expected to continue, with the Metaverse hub entering Pangyo this year.
