[Pangyo Tech] Magenta Robotics Showcases AI Collaborative Robot… “Dexterous Robot Developed as Industrial, Beauty, and Therapy Robot!”

Magenta Robotics (CEO Ki-hyun Kwon), an AI collaborative robot developer, introduced their industrial robot through the YouTube channel of Pan-gyo Techno Valley, the global convergence R&D hub cluster and global center of IT, BT, CT, and NT.

Magenta Robotics is a company that creates robot motion and cognitive abilities as a service. They have made painting robots that you can currently see on construction sites, as well as beauty, therapy, and massage robots, and they plan to develop a robot that can provide health care and assistance in the future.

The company explained that they have developed dexterous robots because of people’s avoidance of 3D work and a worsening shortage of workers. As a response, they developed and manufactured ‘GT PAINTER’ and ‘PIRO-ZERO’.

GT PAINTER is a powder coating robot system which uses AI, and applying deep learning based machine learning with a 99% accuracy rate, it can recognize various varieties and create the right motion for the corresponding variety. Using the integrated robot control software platform (MAVIZ), every function of the robot can be run from one software module, and it is possible to have intuitive control using 3D markers for flexible robot motions when installing and applying systematic functional classifications.

Magenta Robotics gave GT PAINTER an upgrade and showcased GT PAINTERⅡ. The second series is an integrated robot solution based on MAVIZ-5G which is capable of autonomous driving. It is equipped with an integrated software that can conveniently produce and control the action patterns of the robot on the status map, and can make judgements of the environment and situation based on the conceptualization and objectification of the data from the video and sensor input.

In addition, ▲’And & Tool Changer’ for selecting the necessary tool ▲’Information Display’ to check work status and settings ▲’Camera & LIDAR Sensor’ which can recognize objects and read maps ▲’Autonomous Driving Base’ for driving on the optimal path were applied.

PIRO-ZERO is a new massage platform service equipped with a multi-jointed robotic arm and massage devices with different functions. They applied technology for natural interaction with users by combining AI technology, and the user can control the massage area and intensity. In addition, it is equipped with massage devices with different functions that can loosen muscles with methods like vibration, low frequency heating, and high frequency heating, and analyze and demonstrate posture recognition for individuals using a camera.

Ki-hyun Kwon, the CEO of Magenta Robotics, said that, “Our company’s collaborative robot can be applied to various fields with the simple installation of the application. GT PAINTER is capable of multiple functions like coating, washing, and sanding, and PIRO-ZERO is capable of functions like lymph node stimulation, LED therapy, massage, and meridian stimulation,” and relayed that, “GT PAINTER is currently aimed at USA and Europe which has a big painting related market, and PIRO-ZERO is aimed at Singapore which actively adopts high-tech technology.”

He went on to reveal his hopes, saying, “Having Pan-gyo as a base made it possible to recruit more high-level talent, and made it easier to have meetings and conferences, diversifying business opportunities. With this as a springboard, we aim to provide an environment where anyone can easily and conveniently phase in robots and operate them by establishing a multi-purpose robot platform.”

Magenta Robotics’ GT PAINTER is set to be commercialized by the coming December, and PIRO-ZERO is undergoing clinical trials in university hospitals and is set to be commercialized by August next year.
