[Pangyo Tech] Ahnlab, picking up speed with “Open Innovation” together with other businesses and organizations

-Cloud Security: Ahnlab signed a ‘Cloud security business agreement’ with LG CNS and ‘Cloud Security Strategic Alliance MOU’ with Astron Security·Datum

-OT Security: Ahnlab signed a ‘Smart factory OT/ICS security business cooperation agreement,’ with ADT Caps, a ‘Smart factory security solution joint business implementation agreement’ with Posco ICT

-Open OS support: Ahnlab signed a business support agreement of a free vaccine program for personal computer ‘V3 Lite' on ‘Hancomgooroom’ OS.

-Response to phishing attacks: Ahnlab signed a ‘business agreement to prevent and root out phishing’ with Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency

-Cooperation with an aim of mutual growth of start-ups: ‘Strategic alliance MOU to support fin-tech start-ups’

In particular, Ahnlab is focusing on cooperation in ‘Cloud security’ and ‘OT security.’ First, in cloud security, Ahnlab signed a ‘Cloud security business agreement’ with LG CNS and a ‘Cloud Security Strategic Alliance MOU’ with Astron Security·Datum (*in a chronological order). In OT security, Ahnlab signed a ‘Smart factory OT/ICS security business cooperation agreement’ with ADT Caps and a ‘Smart factory security solution joint business implementation agreement’ with Posco ICT. Also, Ahnlab worked with several businesses and organizations to enhance technological prowess and social security including Hancom to support open OS, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to respond to phishing attacks, and Seoul Fintech Lab to achieve mutual growth of start-ups among others.

CEO of Ahnlab Suk-Kyoon Kang said, “recently the boundaries among industries have been blurred and businesses in the same as well as different industries are engaging one another. Ahnlab will actively carry out ‘Open Innovation’ that it announced early this year to seize more business opportunities and strengthen technological prowess.”

Pangyo Technovalley is an innovation hub for global companies comparable to the Silicon Valley in the US, Zhongguancun in China, and STATION F in France. It is an Asia tech hub with 1,259 IT, BT, CT, and NT companies that possess innovative products and technologies. Located just south of the metropolitan area, it provides the best environment for Korean companies to do business with great transportation access and infrastructure.

Various high-tech companies are located in Pangyo Technovalley, and it is occupied by 64,000 full-time employees, many in their 20-30s. In terms of industry, the companies are engaged in information technology, contents technology, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.

With the support of innovative companies with global capabilities such as Kakao, Naver, AhnLab, Krafton, NCSoft, Nexon, and Hancom, companies in Pangyo Technovalley recorded 107 trillion won in sales last year. Investment and infrastructure growth in Pangyo is expected to continue, with the Metaverse hub entering Pangyo this year.
