NanoEX Co., Ltd. (CEO Young-Seong Park) will participate in the ‘International Optical Convergence Expo 2021′ held at the 1st Exhibition Hall of KINTEX in Ilsan for three days from October 13 (Wed) to 15 (Fri).
Micro LED, which is currently attracting attention as a next-generation display technology, has a very small chip size and pitch of less than 50㎛, and the number of chips to be measured per substrate is too large (typically 4.5 million/wafer), and the existing probe Direct contact measurement is not possible with card technology. For this reason, the development of a non-contact method with low measurement reliability is predominant.
In response, NanoEX announced that it would be exhibiting at this exhibition a direct-contact multi-probe card for micro LEDs to which self-developed ‘integrated Elastic Probe Technology (iEPt)’ is applied.

NanoEX’s iEPt probe card is a direct contact method, so the reliability of electrical property inspection is high, and the measurement speed is up to hundreds of times faster than the conventional probe card. Pins are individually elastic. It is possible to overcome the difference in height (flatness) of the measurement chip that occurs during chip manufacturing, thereby eliminating possible chip damage during chip measurement.
Currently, in the case of micro LED displays, there is no technology that can accurately and quickly measure a large number of chips, so the manufacturing process is carried out by attaching the chips to the panel and then selectively repairing the defective chips. This is causing a decrease in yield and an increase in manufacturing cost.
An official from NanoEX said, “We expect that our ‘iEPt’ micro LED probe card will solve the difficulties of micro LED display manufacturing technology and contribute to improving yield and expanding the market.”
