Korea to Advance to Asia Market with 3D Technology

SINGAPORE, Singapore (AVING Special Report on 'ATF 2010') -- <Visual News> Korea Creative Content Agency(KOCCA) organized the 3D•VFX pavilion at 'ATF(Asia TV Forum) 2010', an Asian culture contents market and tries to promote Korean 3D contents technology.

Singapore Government is very interested in co-producing 3D•VFX with Korea and investment promotion and also attracts Asian Branch of Global contents company. So KOCCA promoted 3D•VFX contents and producing technology and organized exports plaza using this ATF that many buyers from Asia and Europe is participating,

Also, KOCCA had a presentation about Korean 3D•VFX contents industry at 3D Conference, did various marketing actions for diffusion of Korean Wave, and provided opportunity to make human network with people in same industry.

3D Plan, Big I Entertainment, CJ PowerCast, Korea HD Broadcasting Corp, SAMG Animation participated to the 3D•VFX pavilion of ATF. 3D Plan showed 'MAGIC World in 3D' which is combined magic show and 3D and Big I Entertainment showed 'The World's Classics in 3D' and 2D to 3D Conversion Solution.

CJ PowerCast introduced Harmony, HaeUnDae, Secret and Speed Scandal which are popular 3D movies in Korea and Korea HD Broadcasting introduced 3D Live K-Popcorn, Nanta, World Civilization and SAMG Animation introduced The 7Cs.

Many visitors were waiting for seeing Korean 3D contents at 3D•VFX pavilion and that showed the possibility of Korean 3D technology. In particular, buyers expressed their interest about 3D technology. One visitor who worked for this area for 10 years evaluated "I was very surprised at the level of Korean 3D and VFX technology. Some areas already reached to the top of the world."

One expert said "Its level is almost equal to Hollywood. It will not take so long time to follow Hollywood." At this Korea Pavilion, 4 Terrestrial Broadcasting Systems, 5 Cable Broadcasts and 10 Independent Distribution and Productions also participated. KOCCA has a plan to help exportation of Korean Broadcast and raise its competitiveness at global market through Korea Pavilion.

ATF is the 11th major international event and the market connecting TV program and buyer. ATF held at Suntec Convention Center, Singapore for 3 days from December 8th to 10th. Singapore Media Development Authority(MDA) supports this event. Last year, a total of 740 companies from 53 countries have participated and the volume of business was 88.9 million dollars.
