[KIMES 2012] Korea’s World class KIMES 2012 fair

The 28th Korea International Medical & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) will come up with noticeably developed large, diverse and vibrant medical devices from 16 to 19 in February during Korea’s winter season. The show this time had to change its opening season inevitably, due to the clash of the nuclear security summit 2012 organized by the Korea government. Even so, the large scale of the Korea medical show is considered to be a significant platform for who those involved in medical industry.

The past edition had 1,026 companies from 32 countries packing for large halls of the exhibition centre, showcasing a wide range of medical devices, equipment and services. Foreign participation was considerably larger than any time previously and is symbolic of a growing interest by foreign medical companies in this market.

With such a large exhibitor base which covers the full breadth of the medical industry, KIMES stands as an important gauge of the direction the medical technology industry is taking.

According to the report in 2010 of KFDA(Korea Food & Drug Administration), the entire Korea medical market was estimated 3,902 billion dollars which increased 7.1% compared to previous year’s figure. Particularly, rising of profit in high-priced digital X-ray’s market shows that the formation of domestic medical industry is gradually transforming into producing high value medical equipment that demands advanced technologies.

The Korean government appreciates the importance of this show and of the local medical industry for the Korean economy and on this basis provides significant support for KIMES. Sponsors for the show includes : Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Ministry of Health & Welfare, Seoul Metropolitan government, Korea Food and Drug Administration(KDA), Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency.

The unique Korean medical show is suggesting the direction for the future medical technology through well over than 1,200 companies from 35 countries in 40,000 sqm of its exhibition space. Projected 60,000 visitors would be obtaining information on all the current and future trends at the North-East Asia’s premier medical event.

The organiser of KIMES 2012 are ready with their extensive and diverse marketing campaign designed to position the exhibition as the ‘must attend’ event in 2012, one which will deliver invaluable business opportunities for anyone working in the medical industry.

The range of exhibits at KIMES includes consultation, diagnosis central supply, clinical examination, hospital accommodation, emergency equipment, radiology, medical information system, surgical apparatus, oriental medicine, cure apparatus, pharmaceutical, physiotherapy apparatus, obesity cure, healthcare, ophthalmic apparatus, medical device component, medical service, dental apparatus, disposable apparatus and others.

For the convenience of visitors, free interpretation service is available at translation booths located at each exhibition entrances and inside of all halls. Furthermore, the exhibition hall layout is divided into exhibition categories for easy understanding based on show structure. Hall A on the first floor is cure & medical information systems, Hall B covers healthcare & rehabilitation, Hall C on the third floor is showcased clinical & diagnostic equipment, in Hall D, exhibits related to Diagnosis & Hospital accommodation are displayed.

Emphasis will be put on ensuring that there is a balance between the different exhibition categories, as KIMES is a total healthcare related show.
