[KES 2012 on-site] Perfect Virtual Reality Becomes Reality

Consumer and industry interest in 3D glasses that allow viewers to enjoy 3D movies and television images as if they were surrounded by the projected images as solid objects is intensifying. Accupix is a 3D solution company and expert developer of 3D eyewear that has supplied LG electronics and other companies with its products.

Accupix is exhibiting its HMD (head-mounted display) Mybud 3D glasses at the 2012 Korea Electronics Fair. Even a few years ago a HMD eyewear monitor was yet to be truly popularized, appearing only in science fiction movies. But with 3D images in the spotlight again, new interest is appearing in the futuristic headwear.

Of the four countries developing 3D glasses - Germany, the US, Japan, and Korea – Accupix is Korea's principal producer. Mybud by Accupix is a new form of personal monitor which resolves the hitherto paradoxical inconvenience for individual consumers of having to watch movies and play mobile games on the small screens of smartphones.

Mybud is not just smaller than existing products but is the world's lightest, weighing in at 78 grams, which makes it highly portable and easily worn. It is of variable use, too, able to switch from 2D to 3D.

It can display images at 852x480 WVGA and has a 35 degree angle of view. This means that when you view media through these glasses, it feels like you are seeing the images on a 100-inch screen four meters in front of you. Mybud has MHL and HDMI interface support and so in addition to smartphones it is compatible with blueray players, video game consoles, set-top boxes, and a variety of image display devices. Thanks to its MHL interface, users can place a call and recharge their smartphone at the same time.
