For the expansion to the global market, promising Korean cosmetic companies are displaying their major lineups at 2021 K-chemicals Cyber Exhibition, which is held Mar. 22-26.

Chamos Cosmetic is a leading company by developing mask packs in 1999 with the know-how accumulated for more than 20 years, and it is known as the company that started the “mask pack wave” in the domestic and foreign markets. It was selected as a company to be supported by Export Enterprise Project run by MSS. Starting from exporting to Japan in early 2000, the company is exporting to many countries around the world including Southeast Asia.

Along with the newcomer award from Export Frontier Company certified by Gyeonggi-do in beauty category, Chamos Cosmetics has a company-affiliated R&D department that has received the IS9001 quality management certification, US FDA, Gyeonggi electronic trade frontier certification, and technology innovation small and medium-sized business (INNO-BIZ) certification. It is doing its best to make safe cosmetics that feel nice on the skin.

Also, the company helps the growth of the skin beauty market by developing high-quality products and launching them in the aesthetic market. This product is made with the patented ingredient from the “manufacturing method of snail mucus fed raw mineral and cosmetic composition containing this.” It comes in emulsion type, but magically turns into oil when it is applied on the skin.

Taein World, which has 20 years of cosmetic distribution and retail experience, is introducing various new products based on its long experience. Particularly, the main brand Teresia, is being sold in 17 duty-free stores with good quality and reasonable prices on the front line.

The company staff from Taein World said, “The large-size Teresia Marine All-in-one Ampoule targeting the Chinese market has finished the sanitation registration. The 10 types of Teresia ampoule that received the US FDA approval maintains reasonable price, and the company is focusing on gaining competitiveness.”

Also, Taein World is attracting good response from the market by introducing various new products. First, it is introducing a variety of products with the brand of MBL (Most Beautiful Life). It is regular-priced product for the public. The five ampoules currently on sale have whitening and wrinkle reduction effect, and with the patented ingredients (No. 10-0910747), extracts of seven natural ingredients, to calm the skin that has been irritated from the outside.

The Lotus’s The Pure Lotus is a naturalism cosmetic brand that contains lotus leaves from Jeju. The Pure Lotus is made with Jeju white lotus leaf, which has excellent antioxidant properties, as its main ingredient. Especially, the luxurious art collaboration design with the lotus painter stands out, and it is currently advancing into the online and department stores in the US, as well as the European markets in the UK, Germany, and Spain.

Alice Purple is a company that produces safe products by using only fragrance oil and aroma essence oil. Alice Purple said, “Our sales and transaction business targets are buyers related to beauty and daily necessities or companies that have online and offline distribution business.”

Alice Purple Natural Fabric Mist is made from natural materials. Also, fabric perfumes with a subtle scent that last for a long time can be used by the whole family. Also, as a product that passed the deodorizing power test of four kinds of odors, ammonia, trilmethylamine, hydrogen sulfide, and methyl mercaptan, it can be used for deodorizing smelly clothes, toilets, kitchens, and textile products.

The company uses the premium oil that has passed the numerous sample work by requesting a well-known fragrance manufacturer in the US and also passed IFRA International Fragrance Association certification standards.

The company staff from Alice Purple said, “We are going to show the Alice Collection, a fabric perfume of premium brand products. With the product “%fume,”  the company focuses more on safety and antibacterial in existing products and has launched a product containing propolis and noni extract in Korea. We want to take this exhibition as the opportunity to introduce our company and products and enter the market, so we will be expecting to talk to many buyers and give out samples for promotion of our products.”

Cube manufactured a variety of functional soaps, including skin-trouble products based on natural ingredients, and moved onto foot care soap Mujomi and feminine cleanser. It provides the all-in-one package by providing a holder and skin paper according to the concept of the product. Also, the company is planning to release a foot cream that can be used with its best-selling foot soap Mujomi.

The company does not use chemicals like LS, SLES, and ALS that may cause skin irritation, and does not use artificial fragrances or chemical hardeners at all. Also, the functionality has been upgraded by using only ingredients that have passed strict ingredient tests, and a luxurious all-in-one package that includes a dedicated holder and skin paper is provided.

▲ Halang introduces a natural mask pack product that can be used in five minutes

Halang was established in 2017. The company produces mask packs and cleansing foams using healthy and safe ingredients.

The Sharala Light Mask Pack which Halang is showcasing at KSCIA 2021 is the quick mask pack that can be used in just five minutes. With 13 types of natural and herbal medicine extracts, it is a non-irritating grade product capable of balancing oil and minimizing pores through natural materials with a porous structure. It also helps brighten skin tone and replenish water with hyaluronic acid. Compared to the existing wash-off type mask pack, which takes about 20 to 40 minutes to use, the Sharala Light Mask Pack can be used in just 5 minutes.

Later, Halang plans to release a trouble care product that can provide treatments for adolescent acne to adult acne. The company staff from Halang said, “I thought busy moms should also have time to take care of themselves, so I started making these products. In the future, I want to make the company that makes people beautiful and environmentally conscious.”

▲ G1 Bio unveils SOQU brand skin care and Dorefglow brand body and hair products

G1 Bio is a cosmetic research and development company that has strategically focused on overseas exports since its establishment. It is focusing on technology development and overseas marketing. The company made a business model that promotes the company’s brand SOQU and actively obtained overseas certifications in major countries, and is exporting its products to 13 countries, mainly in Europe, the US, and Russia, and collaborates with overseas partners to jointly plan, develop, and export new products every year. In addition, it aims to expand sales in the domestic market and enter overseas premium markets by improving brand awareness and establishing an effective new media marketing platform over the next two to three years. The strategy for each growth stage of the company is an important time for the long-term growth, and it is aiming for an IPO in 2027 through preliminary preparation work based on investment, financial, and legal advice from experts.

Through collaboration with overseas buyers, G1 Bio has developed products preferred by overseas consumers. Starting with the company’s SOQU brand, it is making skincare-oriented products, and further, it is expanding its products to body and hair products with a brand called Dorefglow. Also, through various certifications such as CPNP in Europe and NMP in China, the company had been approved for safety. G1 Bio is developing, producing and selling skincare-oriented cosmetics, starting with aloe through overseas market analysis, and focusing on vegetable ingredients such as rose, watermelon, and vitamin C.

G1 Bio’s products are products made by closely identifying the preferences of overseas consumers. Also, G1 Bio’s products are made by developing a variety of raw materials according to the characteristics of cosmetics. These raw materials were recognized for their function and were patented in Korea, and their functionality was recognized through the clinical institutions in Korea.

In the future, G1 Bio will release  Dorefglow skincare cosmetics made with patented ingredient called Cinamaldehyde, cleansing products of the SOQU ROSE line with high content of hyaluronic acid and PH balancing technology, and hair styling products with enzymes that keep the setting power constant.

▲ YCOS introduces cleanser and tone-up cream products containing natural ingredients

YCOS is a specialized manufacturing and distribution company of cosmetics and quasi-drugs launched by YSJ Cosmetics in 2011. Currently, products are being exported to 15 countries around the world, and exports account for 70% of sales, contributing to promoting K-beauty to the world.

YCOS’s ‘‘A.K.A.pure Face Cleanser” is a cleansing product with fine and soft foam, so it does not irritate the skin. And, while minimizing harmful substances, cleaning power and moisturizing power are not compromised. It is a cleanser that does not contain any synthetic nor natural fragrances that can have side effects, so it is safe to use even for people with sensitive sense of smell. Also, it contains seven types of hyaluronic acid, a natural moisturizing factor, so users can keep their skin moist even after cleansing. For concerns regarding sensitive skin, it used pure aloe vera leaf juice instead of aloe vera extract.

Hevening Jeju Pure Tone Up Cream is a hypoallergenic tone-up cream that soothes the skin and makes the skin tone bright and natural by containing a total of 10 botanical ingredients such as pure Jeju Cactus extract and four patented fruit extracts. Also, compared to foundation, it does not smear on masks or clothes, so it can be finished without feeling stuffy after applying on the skin. It is a water drop phenomenon that creates water droplets when applied. It provides moisture to dry skin to care for tired skin.

In the future, YCOS plans to release a face soothing gel product containing Water Cage, a skin temperature sensitive nano-transmitter developed by the Department of Biotechnology at Kangwon National University. It contains aloe vera and 10 plant extracts to moisturize and sooth dry and irritated skin.

▲ Beauren Korea introduced anti-aging home clinic program Miracle Tox

Beauren Korea, a compound word of Beauty and Render, was established in 2014 with the aim of becoming a company that creates Korean beauty. Beauren Korea, which developed its own ingredients to prevent skin aging and researched and developed mechanisms to make the skin healthy, launched Miracle Tox and Cell Story brands incorporating the patented ingredient Microsphere®.

Miracle Tox is an anti-aging home clinic program, and it further enhances the skin that holds the cheeks, chin, and nasolabial folds that gradually lose elasticity. It is intended to use once a week instead of daily. It is meant to give quick and easy care on the skin. With Miracle Tox’s proprietary anti-aging technology Microsphere, users can easily experience the same care in a dermatology or esthetic treatment at home.

The company staff from Beauren Korea said, “Due to the nature of the product, it is necessary to actually meet overseas customers to demonstrate the products. But, since we can’t do that due to COVID, we participated in this exhibition. We are focusing on gaining new technology along with the diversification of the distribution with the goal of entering the global market with Korea’s bio cosmetics.”

2021 K-chemical Cyber Exhibition supports non-face-to-face overseas marketing for Korean companies. The exhibition boasts the largest display of industrial chemical products (varnish, glue, surfactants, MDI, polybutene, polyol, catalyst, blowing agent, additive, pipe, plastic for daily use, additives, etc.) and cosmetics (sun block, serum, ampoule, skin toner, lotion, shampoo, mask pack, etc.) in Korea. This year, about 270 companies will be participating to provide their major products and services.

Especially in this exhibition, 3D technology-based exhibition hall and booth will be set up to showcase special contents made of chemical products for online marketing to overseas buyers.

Currently in Korea, major industries like electronics and automobiles centered on chemical industry are closely linked. In line with this, Korea Specialty Chemical Industry Association (KSCIA), the organizer of the event, is helping the Korean chemical companies to enter the overseas market by various support like export, research and analysis, technical standards, and HDR support as well as handling international agreements. This year’s goal is to achieve 330 million dollars in export in the chemical industry.
