JUNGDO TECH (CEO Mun Hong-sun, www.jungdotech.co.kr) showcased “New Bio Clean”, which enables food waste resource recovery with microbial fermentation, at the 7th International Climate & Environmental Fair. The event runs Sep. 9-11 at Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju.

The “New Bio Clean”, a large food waste disposer, comes in three models for 200, 300, and 500 households. The 200 households model can handle 100kg of food waste per day, and it can on the spot decompose food waste from an apartment building with 200 households.

The product perfectly ferments and dries food waste by using enzymes from thermophilic microorganisms. It also uses a technology that can reduce food waste by 85%. In addition, the product is eco-friendly, as it discharges decomposed carbon dioxide and vapor with no air pollutants, and it does not generate sewage and waste water.

The company has acquired two patents, including one for “fermentation, drying and quantity reducing system for food waste”, which is related to the development of a large food waste disposer. Also, it has received K mark and ISO9000 certificates.

With its unique mixing structure, users can conveniently dispose their food waste at any time of the day. The byproduct can be used as high-quality fertilizer, since food waste is disposed in real time and immediately fermented and dried.

According to test results by the National Institute of Animal Science, the byproduct was proven useful and could be utilized as high-quality animal feed. One company official said: “JUNGDO TECH will use the byproduct as animal feed for ducks and pigs in the future. We are confident farmers can increase their income by raising high-quality livestock, and take advantage of import substitution effects on animal feed worth trillions of won.”

The company has successfully completed demonstration projects at Mok-dong Apartment Complex in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul and Dosan Apartment Complex in Guro-gu, Seoul. Now, it is operating other projects at Sanggye Jugong Apartment Complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul, SK Bukhansan City in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and ACE Ville in Incheon. Residents have only given positive responses.

Recently, the company installed its apparatus at the cafeteria of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation’s head office, which provides outstanding domestic public housing service. In the future, with new awareness about food waste, the company is expected to garner much attention from communities and residents of apartment complexes.

Meanwhile, during the exhibition, the company will promote their products and hold export consultations, all the while raising environmental awareness.

The International Climate & Environmental Fair, the only specialized environmental exhibition in the Homan area, showcases related products and core technologies to battle air, water, soil, and waste pollution.
