IDEACONCERT Co., Ltd.(CEO Dal-yong Jeon) participated in '2021 Metaverse Hub & DCC Global Demo Day' held on Dec 8th and introduced 'TOONTRA', an AI-based automatic translation technology.
Founded in September 2015, IDEACONCERT is a cultural technology development company that develops technologies to create, use, and promote content well. The first authoring tool created by IDEACONCERT is 'TOONIEVIE', which turns a webtoon into a video.
The second project in progress is 'TOONTRA', a translation authoring tool that can translate webtoons. The company is currently working on upgrading the technology, and it is scheduled to launch officially in the first half of next year.
The AI-based automatic translation technology 'TOONTRA' extracts text from speech bubbles, a main characteristicof webtoons. Through ‘TOONTRA’, translated texts can be processed at once.
An IDEACONCERT official said, "We will upgrade the functions of visualization authoring tool 'TOONIVIE' and translation authoring tool 'TOONTRA' so that they can be used in actual work. Our company is alsoplanning to develop a webtoon movie-specialized platform that can change corporate attributes from an SW technology-based sales strategy to an SW advantage-based platform strategy and share this to the whole the world.”
Recently, IDEACONCERT signed an MOU with the short-form mobile video platform TikTok for visualizing webtoon content. Regarding this, the official said, "Through the business partnership with TikTok, we plan to promote a cooperative project for image-based content such as webtoons, comics, fairy tales, games, and characters. We will do our best to provide practical help to promote these.”
Meanwhile, the 2021 Metaverse Hub & DCC Global Demo Day was organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Hye-sookLim). It was held to discover promising companies with great potential for overseas expansion among the companies supported by the Metaverse Hub and Digital Contents Company Growth Support Center (DC Center), a business support facility operated by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency(President Chang-yong Kim) and the Next Generation Convergence Content Industry Association (Chairman Yo-cheol Choi, NCIA)
