The association and KOTRA had held the Global Electric Power Tech 2017 (hereinafter, “Exhibtion”) involving smart grids, power·nuclear plants and the heavy electrical industry, in the COEX Hall C of Seoul, for three days, since May 10th, 2017 to May 12th, 2017.

For this year, 388 companies, both domestic and foreign, from 14 nations(592 booths), joined and 32,345 people(including 1,792 international visitors) visited the Exhibtion.

In the Exhibtion that was sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, 23 institutions and organizations--Korea Electric Power Corporation, 6 power generating companies, etc.--participated as the cooperators for establishing foundation of th electical industry for exporting and launching overseas; Korea Electric Power Corporation, 6 power generating companies and others willingly supported the manufacturing companies of smart girds, of appartus and materials for power transmission·transformation·distribution and of appratus and materials for implementing power·nuclear plants, for their participations in the Exhibition, in order to support small and medium companies to find markets, both domestically and internationally.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Exhibtion has gradually grown up, as its participants have been satisfied with results of their participations in the Exhibition, and spread its reputation; it is postively evaluated for making its actual achievements, as about 30,000 of the association members, the best domestic buyers engaging in the fields of the public companies of electicity, of electrical designs, of construction supervision and of safety management, and the end users made their visits to the Exhibition.

The Exhibition offered many things to see for this year, by creating the themed rooms and diverse kinds of small events. It consisted of 96 booths in the Rooms of Cooperative Small&Medium Companies served by Korea Electric Power Corporation that manufactures smart grids and appratus and materials for transmission·transformation·distribution and 6 power generating companies that manufacture apparatus and materials for power·nuclear plants. It also contains the Room of International Buyer, the Room of Electical Power Facility, the Room of Power·Nuclear Plant Industries, the Room of Smart Grids, the Room of ESS Industry, the Room of LED illuminations, the NEP/NET Room, the Room of Safety Inspection Advertisement, etc., providing many spectacles.

In addition, there were many kinds of small events, approximately 20 in number, such as the 4th Industrial Reformation and Electricity-IoT Tecnology Seminar dicussing about Electricity-IoT security technology and Big Data, the Consultation Service for Public Purchase of Products with New Technology Certifications, the seminars about implementing solar energy generating systems and operating technologies for their maintenances and profit maximizations and about technologies for applying and commercializaing ESS and PCS, etc., contributing to developments of electricians’ expertises and advancements of electrical technologies.

Especially, as the government, the association, KOTRA and electrical businesses collaborated to embody the model of exporting power plants, and their appratus and materials into this Exhibition, it was held in cooperation with KOTRA that possesses 127 trade centers for 86 countries around the world, in its 10 branches, focusing on domestic and international marketings and multiplying international synergy effects.

In 2017 Power-Tech Korea, where KOTRA invited foreign buyers, the domestic companies that displayed their electrical appratus and materials counseled the 55 buyers from 23 countries, such as electrical project contractors, EPC companies, local agencies, etc, about purchasing the products. It was estimated that there were 407 counselings for foreign buyers, the exporting counselings worth 930 milion dollars (330 million dollars by agreements), and the exportations deriving 7.41 million dollars.

Furthermore, in 2017 Power-Tech Korea, the buyers from Indonesia that promotes reformation of its electricity market and from Middle-East and CIS countries that have high demands of infrastructure-driven developments showed much interests in it.

Meanwhile, the one-to-one exporting consultations were performed in the Room of International Buyers within the Exhibition for the important contractors with sales of more than 100 million dollars; as a result, they had achieved 5,000 million dollars of project contracts for the last 5 years, 500 million dollars by exporting electrical appratus and materials, 6 cases of registering contracting vendors, 7 successful cases of market launches with partnerships of large, medium and small companies.
