Flipper Corporation Inc. (CEO Jeong-Woong Seok) was awarded the ‘Korea Challenge Excellence Award’ at the global startup grand festival ‘Try Everything 2022’ held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) from September 21st (Wed.) to the 23rd (Fri.).
‘Try Everything’ is a global startup festival where members of the startup ecosystem such as promising startups, large and medium-sized companies, investors, and accelerators from all over the world come together. Seoul City has been hosting Try Everything in September every year since 2020 in order to revitalize the startup ecosystem.
At this event, competitions were held by combining excellent Venture Capitals (VC) in each category of the ‘Korea Challenge (Startup of 3~7 years)’ and the ‘National Startup Audition (Startup under 3 years)’.
Flipper Corporation Inc. provides a service called ‘Hitbim’, that enables mobile app development without coding. Recognized for its technology at the beginning of the year in 2022, it succeeded in attracting investment from Seoul National University Technology Holdings and Smilegate Investment, and is also conducting TIPS R&D.
The core of the HitBim App Builder is to modularize mobile apps into functional unit plug-ins. The developer builds plug-in modules that implement desired functions, and by placing them like blocks, it implements the completed mobile app. Plug-ins can be reused once it’s made, so developers can collaborate with each other by sharing plus-ins. Non-developers can also combine plug-ins that are already made to create mobile apps without coding.
Unlike other app builder services that provides the whole app as templates, HitBim provides individual modules, so it enables users to create the app in the form they want, depending on the combination. An official explained that it’s difficult to change the functions or the form for general mobile apps, but HitBim enables customized app development at low costs through adding or changing modules.
Flipper Corporation Inc. was selected as one of the COMEUP 2022 COMEUP Stars, and they are planning on releasing their no-code app service on November 9th this year. Users who only have a homepage without pre-existing mobile apps may release apps one- click, without additional costs, and users who do not have homepages may also use the ‘HitBim’ platform and go through the process of releasing the app without any coding.
Meanwhile, Seoul was selected as one the global TOP 10 cities in the world to start a business this year.
