'Korea Sleep Festa 2022 (hereinafter referred to as Sleep Festa)', which presented deep sleep techniques and solutions to improve sleep quality, was held at EXCO in Daegu on the 17th.

Organized by the Daegu Gyeongbuk Textile Industries Association and EXCO, and hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City, Sleep Festa is a "sleep-focused exhibition" that celebrated its second anniversary this year. This year, 170 sleep-related companies, including premium bedding companies, participated to introduce high-quality bedding and sleep-related products as well as sleep solutions for health.

In general, the optimal amount of sleep for newborn babies is 14 to 17 hours a day, and thisoptimal sleep time decreases little by little as we get older, so the "optimal sleep time" for adults is said to be about 7 to 9 hours. So, what happens if you sleep less or more than the 'optimal amount' of sleep? Not getting enough sleep or sleeping too much can be detrimental to your health and daily life, both physically and mentally.

From a physical standpoint, your risk of exposure to various diseases such as weight gain and obesity, weak immune function, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, and heart diseaseincreases. From a mental and behavioral side, lack of sleep can cause a decrease in performance, shorter attention-span, increased frequency in mistakes, and depression. Conversely, studies have also shown that sleeping too much can cause obesity due to lack of movement and lower endorphin secretion which can also lead to depression.

Ultimately, optimal sleep depends on the quality of sleep rather than the quantity of sleep. The exhibition where you coulddiscoveranswersto optimal sleep was Sleep Festa.

Visitor interest was expected to increase as much as the number of participating companies in this year's Sleep Festa event. The number of participating companies for 2022 Korea Sleep Festa had doubled, and the exhibition space was increased by 158% compared to the previous year.
