Electrolux’ Skeith McLoughlin to deliver his first keynote since becoming CEO on September 2

IFA announced that Masaaki Osumi, chief executive officer of Toshiba, will deliver the Opening International Keynote at IFA 2011 on 2 September. The international tradeshow for innovations in consumer electronics and home appliances.IFA 2011 takes place September 2 – 7 at the Messe Berlin Fairgrounds in Berlin. Exhibitor press conferences take place August 31 and September 1. All IFA Keynotes will take place in Hall 6.3.

 

The keynote by Osumi opens IFA 2011 at 09:45 (9:45 a.m.) on 2 September. As executive officer, corporate senior vice president, president and chief executive officer, Digital Products & Services Company, Toshiba Corporation, Osumi will discuss Japan’s recovery and new mission: “To build a better life.” As part of his address, “The Next Challenge for Japan: A new, symbiotic relationship between the digital home and energy,” Osumi will detail Toshiba’s vision for how the consumer electronics industry can contribute to achieving this new mission.

 

The IFA International Keynote program continues on 2 September at 15:00 (3 p.m.) with Keith McLoughlin, who became president and chief executive officer of Electrolux in January 2011. McLaughlin will be delivering his first keynote since taking office and will discuss the ways that consumers increasingly drive change and innovation in the home appliance and consumer electronics industries – and how companies must keep pace, stay relevant, transform and earn brand loyalty as the balance of power tips to the consumer.

 

“The keynote program at IFA is known for attracting global thinkers in the consumer electronics and home appliance sectors,” said Jens Heithecker, executive director of IFA. “Our distinguished keynoters bring a unique perspective on current events and innovations in technology that are changing the global business landscape.”
