Daechang Motors (CEO Chung-gi Oh)will participate in 'KOREA PACK Special & ICPI WEEK 2021' held at KINTEX, Goyang from May 25 (Tue) to 28 (Fri) and present 'DanigoVan'.
Established in 2010, Daechang Motors Co., Ltd. is known as a supplier of electric carts to Korea Yakult for its sale and delivery of dairy products, starting with the development and mass production of purely domestic electronic induction golf cars. Since 2016, the company has entered the U.S. market with LSV (Low Speed Electric Vehicle) that satisfies the U.S. FMVSS500 regulations, taking the basic steps one by one to produce electric vehicles. Meanwhile, it has developed a lithium-ion battery pack for portable X-rays currently supplied to Samsung Electronics.
Introduced in this exhibition, 'Danigo Van' is a 5-door type 2-passenger small electric freight car. It is equipped with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack that Daechang Motors developed using a high-efficiency 21700 cell supplied by LG Chem. It is a high-performance small freight electric car mounted with an IPM motor with a maximum output of 80kW, and can drive at a maximum speed of 110Km/h and a driving distance of 250km.
An official from Daechang Motors said, "Danigo Van is a small freight electric vehicle with a total length of 4,090mm, a width of 1,645mm, and a height of 1,880. Its size is in the middle size between Hyundai Motor’s StarRex and GM Korea’s DAMAS, and it is a practical freight car for convenient travel, sufficient freight loading space, and excellent freight transportability. It is drawing attention as a compact freight car that can be substituted with GM Korea’s plan to discontinue the production of DAMAS in 2021, so we developed Danigo Van as a vehicle to replace GM’s customers.”
In addition, "Danigo vans are equipped with safety devices (ESC, ABS, HAC, TPMS, EPS, and HVAC) that have greatly enhanced driving stability and safety, and they have improved convenience and reliability for customers by applying convenience devices (FMS, ADAS).
When asked if there were any cases that helped in the development of the Danigo Van, the official replied, "We gained know-how in production and quality systems while developing lithium-ion batteries with Samsung Electronics. Through this, we could develop the lithium-ion battery pack for electric vehicles used in Danigo. We applied our know-how of developing Danigo 1 and 3to a new platform and have significantly improve quietness, ride comfort, handling, and safety. By applying a communication module capable of wireless communication, Danigo Vans can constantly monitor and upgrade the firmware of major parts in real time.
Meanwhile, before the opening of 2021 Korea Pack, an online exhibition service to meet exhibitors was unveiled on the 17th (Mon.). This online exhibition hall is designed for overseas buyers, who are facing difficulties in entering the Korean market due to the prolonged COVID-19, as well as domestic SMEs who are struggling with overseas expansion. Targeting domestic exhibitors and overseas buyers matched through the online exhibition service, 2021 Korea Pack will support export channels by holding the first video-based export consultation meetings at KINTEX from the 25th to the 28th.
