It has developed, produced, and stably supplied high-efficiency premium motor products, and is continuously promoting R&D to secure competitiveness through high-speed, compact, and low noise, and high efficiency.

As industries that apply motors such as eco-friendly cars, wind power generators, and high-efficiency home appliances have expanded since the Kyoto Climate Agreement, demands for high-efficiency motors are growing, and foreign products are difficult to import due to COVID-19.

In line with market changes to new industries such as eco-friendly electric vehicles and hydrogen energy, Youngsang is making its main products by securing technologies for developing and manufacturing motors for traction motors and turbo blowers.

The premium grade (IE3) of an industrial motor refers to the rating efficiency from IE1 to IE5, and the image has the theoretical design and appropriate production technology to minimize the required motor loss. For the theoretical design of premium (IE3) motors, numerical design was carried out using the load distribution method and the capacity design method by size, and motors that completed design verification were manufactured through electromechanical analysis.

SPM and IPM motors using permanent magnets have super and ultra-premium efficiency such as IE4 and IE5 and can implement compact sizes and high power with high magnetism using ferrite and rare earth neodymium (Nd) magnets.

In order to develop such design and production technologies, Youngsang organized research institutes within the company and secured more sophisticated design and production technologies through technical cooperation with domestic research institutes (KTC, KCL, etc.). As a result, 15 horsepower and 20 horsepower premium motors were developed last year, and 25 horsepower motors are currently being developed and traction motors for compact electric vehicles are being developed.

Regulations on eco-friendly products are being tightened, and we are pushing to optimize design and improve materials and materials to improve super premium (IE4) ratings to produce more competitive technology, an official from Youngsang said. "We have introduced Sigma 6 to minimize product production and secure product performance measurement technology."

Regarding future plans, he said, "We completed the first stage of smart factory construction in September 2020, and we are planning to build a second stage smart factory in 2022," adding, "We plan to develop traction motors for eco-friendly electric vehicles and SOFC's turbo blowers and secure industrial property rights."
