[CES 2016 Preview] From Samsung and LG’s Smart TV content focus to Hyundai Mobis’s ‘Future Car IT’--Korea’s highlights at CES 2016

As CES 2016 is fast approaching, several major Korean industry players will be on-site at the 4-day convention in Las Vegas while Korea’s consumers await news and updates to be revealed at the world’s biggest consumer electronics trade show. With Samsung and LG as one of the largest exhibitors yet again, Hyundai Mobis Co. will attend as CES’s first Korean car component maker, and Dr. Won-Pyo Hong of Samsung will make a keynote speech.Following last year’s grand exhibition, Samsung and LG will once again be one of the biggest exhibitors on CES floor and this year will turn their focus from Smart TV hardware to Smart TV content. Samsung Electronics is to unveil six of its games and a new voice guidance feature on its Smart TVs, while already garnering attention for its 'CES 2016 Best of Innovation Award'. Meanwhile, LG will showcase its 'Web OS 3.0' that allows TVs to memorize and notify specific programs that users prefer and to check on the operation of other household devices such as refrigerators and washing machines.Korea’s Hyundai Mobis will be the first Korean car component maker to present its ‘future car IT’ at CES 2016. With a concept theme titled 'Lifetime partner in automobiles and beyond', Hyundai Mobis will showcase a two-floor exhibition of their currently-developed technology, their innovative technologies of the future, and an experiential arena for the visitors of its next generation autonomous driving technology and i-Cockpit cars.Keynote addresses are a highlight of CES as well. This year’s panel topics include 'The Future of Urban Mobility Keynote' and 'C Space Keynote, presented by MediaLink'. Speakers include Dr. Herbert Diess of Volkswagen AG, Brian Krzanich of Intel, and Reed Hastings of Netflix, to name a few. Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, the president of Samsung SDS, is expected to remark on the IoT (Internet of Things) and Samsung’s implementation of IoT to improve daily home activities.Korea’s Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency (DIP) is also expected to hold a booth of providing Smart technology informational service at the Westgate Hotel during the duration of CES. 6 companies supported by DIP will be on-site, which include Nano IT, Network Korea, Passion N Opus, IT Health, Green System, and U-HanPresen.→ Go to 'CES 2016' News page
