C-motech ships for the first time DBDM modems to Hitachi of Japan

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) -- <Visual News> C-motech, a company that specializes in wireless data communication devices (www.cmotech.com) is shipping for the first time 20,000 "DBDM," a wireless data communication modem with a Wibro chip, to Hitachi of Japan until February 22.

C-motech was selected as the DBDM supplier of KDDI, a consortium with Hitachi of Japan in November 2008 and signed a contract on 15 October 2009 to supply modems worth about KRW 39.4 billion. This is a big contract worth about 51 percent of C-motech's total sales in 2008 of KRW 77.8 billion. The products will be delivered during the first half of 2010.

The DBDMs supplied to KDDI through Hitachi are expected to greatly contribute to the vitalization of the Japanese Wibro market. Also, the product is forecast to consolidate its position as a killer item of KDDI in its attack of the Japanese wireless data communication market saturated with various products.

The first shipment of DBDMs proves that C-motech succeeded at producing advanced high-quality products as a global IT company.

C-motech's DBDM successfully passed through all strictly controlled processes of Hitachi factory's facilities and production based on its strict manuals and standards.

A C-motech official said, "We will pioneer into the global Wibro market with the firm confidence gained from shipping our products to the Japanese market known to be the world's pickiest market."

DBDM that C-motech exclusively developed in the world and is supplying is a wireless data communication modem that supports both Wibro and the existing 3G networks of mobile communication companies. C-motech is supplying the product to Sprint of the United States, SK Telecom of Korea and now to KDDI of Japan. In particular, C-motech is selling an upgraded version of the world's first DBDM "CMU-300" supplied to Sprint, the "CMU-301" and the company is continuously preparing for a follow-up model.
