Artificial Society (CEO Ki-young Kim) will participate in the COMEUP 2022 that will be held for three days at the Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) from November 9th(Wed) to the 11th(Fri), introducing the company’s first beta service of the company’s first ‘Artificial Intelligence Reading Skill Improvement Solution’ app, Lesser.

Artificial Society, an edu-tech startup, is developing ‘Lesser’, a personalized mobile learning solution that uses AI gaze-tracking technology to assess and improve reading skills. In recognition of its technology and marketability, it has attracted seed investment from Naver D2SF, Kakao Ventures, Mark & Company, and Lotte Ventures.

Artificial Society, founded in April 2021 and entering its second year this year, shared their aspiration to provide a mobile app service that uses the AI gaze-tracking literacy assessment technology it prides in. It assesses and improves the overall learning ability through ‘Lesser’, which improves the entire reading process ‘from phonological awareness to inferential ability’.

The company explained that Lesser, which daily provides content that can assess and improve reading skills on mobile, was released as an iPhone-based iOS service in September, and it secured more than 2000 downloads in one month without any special marketing activities.

CEO Ki-Young Kim said, “With the release of the beta version of the Lesser App, we decided to participate in the exhibition to call to attention the issue of Korean reading comprehension. Through the gaze-tracking technology, our company is collaborating with various companies by signing MOUs etc.”

He emphasized, “The entire service will be released to Android-based Galaxy smartphones later on, and we expect to have a positive effect on elementary school students’ Korean reading education by providing content and brain games to improve reading skills.”
