Apple Watch Sales Plunges After Its Release at April

Apple Watch sales dropped by 90% since the opening week, according to Slice Intelligence – market researching group on Palo Alto, CA. According to Slice Intelligence, Apple has sold about 20,000 watches in United States since its peak sale record at the releasing week of April 10 – when it saw about 200,000 watches being purchased every day, or 1.5 million watches during a week.

More disappointing news is that two-thirds of the watches sold was the Sports version, the cheapest model available at $349. Luxurious Edition model priced at $10,000 or $12,000 were sold fewer than 2,000 watches so far. Slice has conducted its research from analyzing electronic receipts delivered to email addresses of buyers for consumer goods corporations.

Wall Street has been eager to know about the performance of Apple Watch on the market, but Apple did not disclosed any data about the watch. Still, it was usual to see huge drops of sales of new products from major companies – after drawing consumers’ initial interests. Even more, as specified by stock analyzing company of Trefis, Apple put little expectation on this new line of products – occupying just 4% of Apple’s current value.

Nevertheless, drastic plunges in Apple Watch’s sales is surely critical – as the Apple Watch is more crucial than its any present contribution to incomes of Apple. Apple Watch is the smartwatch produced from Apple and the first new product line generated after Steve Jobs’ death. The accomplishment of Apple Watch in the market today directly reflects how outstanding the company will sustain the standards of perfection in innovation, marketing, and production it attained from Jobs’ administration. The watch gained public’s acknowledgements about recent trend of wearable techs – mostly smartwatches. However, its rivals from Samsung, Sony, Microsoft, LG, Asus, and Motorola already joined the contest before Apple released its own smartwatch. Apple’s fate in this new challenge must be tough – trying to survive in the retails and overcoming pioneering competitors.
