All electronic news sites should be like blogs

NEW YORK, USA (AVING) -- <Visual News> With the advent of personal media ‘blog’, individuals have an opportunity to stand as ‘an information transmitter’ from a mere information taker. Together with this trend, invention of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) facilitates individual info transmitters to achieve ‘news agency’ status that is able spread their news to various channels even without high tech equipment that AP or Reuter has.

If there were no ‘Blogosphere’ in the world, AVING would not be able to accomplish its mission to unearth new products and technologies of unknown companies and deliver them with vivid images to readers all over the world.

In this regard, AVING arranges a special time to have email interviews with publishers and chief editors of blog news channels, who are delivering AVING Visual News to all over the world with professional knowledge and gentle humor, to get their opinions about media trend in the world and the future of IT industry.

AVING Talks on ‘Blogosphere’ – 2

Paul Briggs,
Chief Editor of Mobile Whack(www.mobilewhack.com)

1. Can you introduce yourself to us briefly?

My name is Paul Briggs (no not the boxer) I have been running internet businesses for several years. I''m a citizen of Australia - the Land Down Under.

2. What kind of a blog is Mobilewhack?

Mobilewhack is a blog that concentrates on providing detailed information on the latest quality mobile consumer electronic products. When I started the site, I noticed that there were many gadget blogs out there, but few provided more than a paragraph on a great product, that I felt many people would want more detailed coverage on. So I have concentrated my efforts on providing detailed articles, specs, features and lots of photos on cool mobile electronic products.

It seems that this is the kind of info many people want, as we have quickly grown from a small site to a site that receives 10000''s of visitors every day.

3. What are your opinions about Korean Digital Products, Korean market, and its IT Infrastructure?

Korea is well placed to be the dominant player in the mobile electronics field, everyday it seems like the Korean manufacturers come out with a world first. We don''t cover all Korean products as some of them are just for local Korea, but we do cover worlds first and products that will be distributed worldwide.

4. You probably have seen many gadgets presented with girls in the pictures. What is your opinion about that? Is there any better idea to display products than the ones with girls?

Girls and Gadgets in the same picture are ok, as long as the image is not overtly sexual and the girls are appropriately dressed. Having a good looking girl in an image with a gadget always makes a product look more attractive to the consumer. Samsung do very good photos.

5. What is going to happen to ‘blog news’ in America and Europe? Do you think they are able to overpower Cnet or JD power in the future?

There is no better way to present news than how a blog presents it, all electronic news sites should be like blogs. I don''t think Cnet or JD will feel overwhelmed, they are going pretty good last time I checked Alexa. There are a lot of topics to be covered in electronics and one site just can''t cover them all, together the many top electronic blogs out there do a very good job in covering most things.

There is room for everyone, blogs have there own flare, niches, and people write about news in there own original style, with there own opinions, most people like how blog come across to them on a more personal level. People have more options than ever on where to receive there electronics news, which is a good thing for everybody. There''s a lot going on in the mobile electronics arena at the moment, MobileWhack is only able to cover one part of it.

6. What do you think about selecting several products and giving a sort of award to them on a regular basis by forming a kind of association of blog news editors? What is your opinion regarding credibility of the award, compared to that of Cnet, JD Power?

I think this is a great idea and I would love to be a part of it. I think the combined power of 100''s of top gadgets sites including Cnet and JD, would be best able to determine what best gadgets are going around.

Each top gadget site should submit a list of what they think are the top gadgets and then by comparing the entire lists together, you should be able to determine which ones are the best gadgets. I have list of my top picks for the year here.

7. Lastly, give us (Korean netizen and AVING Team) some inspirational and penetrative comments about the Future

I see big things in the future in the field of mobile electronics, especially in mobile phones, there are unlimited number of things that can be done to phones. Everyday I think up of several ideas of what I think would be the ultimate phone. Also I see a bright future for GPS Devices, dSLR Digital Cameras, Video/MP3 Players, high end Camcorders, Smart Phones, Portable Game Consoles and Auto Electronics.

Thank you for the interview, Korean netizens and AVING team are always on top of the latest coolest Korean gadget announcements and are always a reliable source for the top overseas gadget sites.
