2021 Preview In Daegu (PID) held... Rebirth as an online-offline hybrid platform exhibition!

- Participated by 194 Korean and foreign companies (25 overseas) including Korea's leading textile companies

- Display of yarns, advanced functional materials, bedding and fibers for everyday life, and even K-quarantine health-conscious and safety fibers

- PID Online Business Day held simultaneously from April 20 to May 21

Preview In Daegu 2021 (PID), the largesttextile material business exhibition in Korea hosted by Daegu Metropolitan Cityand Gyeongsangbuk-do and organized by Daegu Gyeongbuk Textile IndustryAssociation (Chairman Cho Jung-moon), will be held for three days on May 12-14.

Considering the COVID-19 situation, theexhibition held in March every year will be held temporarily in May this year.In this year’s PID, is a total of 194 companies (169 Korean, 25 overseas)participated, introducing various new materials in yarn & textiles, homedecor & living materials, and K-quarantine materials.

To provide effective marketing supportbetween overseas buyers and exhibitors who cannot meet in person due to thepandemic, about 1,500 exhibiting items and detailed company information can beviewed simultaneously in online digital showrooms and 3D virtual exhibitionhalls. This solution is expected to receive great reviews among participantsand overseas buyers.

PID Online Business Day has been held inadvance from April 20, providing various business services such as promotionalvideos and exhibited products to overseas buyers in more than 20 countries.Also, with the online platform that allows real-time consultation and makingmeeting reservations, the organizer sought business boom-up effect and newexhibition possibilities. The online exhibition for overseas buyers will beheld until May 21, and the organizer will support overseas marketing throughoutthe year by uploading the materials from exhibitors.

Especially, for three days of theexhibition, a showroom-type video consultation center will be installed in theexhibition hall and Dalian, China to provide real-time business consultation,and video matching conferences will be held with major overseas buyers in theUS, India, the Middle East, and Asia.

The main theme of this year’s exhibition is“sustainable refresh to the future.” The exhibition focuses on health, safety,and health issues in response to the post-COVID era. and deals with issuesrelated to biodegradation, recyclability, recyclable renewable resources. Asthe consumer demand for health-conscious and safe textile materials that areanti-virus and anti-bacterial, the exhibition provides new marketingopportunities to respond to the changes in the market trend.

With the aim of leading the globaleco-friendly trend, Hyosung TNC will prepare a unique exhibition hall jointlywith North Face which supplies a waste PET bottle recycling yarn regen®jeju,and introduce products made in collaboration with the athleisure brand XEXYMIX.Also, various items will be presented through constructive growth between 17subcontractors and companies.

Also, major Korean companies such asYoungone Trading, Seong-an, R&D Textile, One Chang Material, DeokwooIndustries, Hoshin Textiles, Baek San Jacquard, Haewon Trade, and YoungdoVelvet are also participating.

Korea Textile Development Institute iscomposed of four theme halls: eco-friendly green, health and safety, digitalindustrial convergence, and high-tech super, and presents R&D achievementsof companies participating in the local private-led local business promotionproject.

With the concept of green & digitalinnovation in textile materials, Dyetec promotes the virtual engineering, AI,and big data platform construction projects underway at the research institute,and exhibits materials presented by companies and R&D projects.

Korean textile marketing supportorganizations such as Daegu Textile Marketing Center (DMC), Korea TextileCenter (KTC), and G-TEXTOPIA (GTC) are also participating to actively supportmember companies' counseling.

With the focus on safety and health due toCOVID-19, interest and demand for health-conscious and safe textile materialshave rapidly increased. In line with this, Gyeongbuk Technopark prepared“K-quarantine Gyeongbuk, Health-conscious and Safe Textile Product Pavilion”and displayed the materials and products in the region that are related tohealth and safety.

Various K-quarantine products from KSNT, acompany specializing in safety human protective clothing industry usingairbags, Sutex with fabric-type protective clothing materials, Sealon with seamsealing tape material for medical and protective clothing, Sueco AdvancedMaterial ‘s four-layer filter mask blocking fine dust, and Dominique'santibacterial fabric surgical clothing and masks, will be displayed to attractvisitors’ attention.

Daegu area bedding companies, Arumaru, SeinIndustries, Hanbit Bedding, Casabella, Hankwang, Nlpozam, and Sunny Bedding,participated to display a variety of eco-friendly bedding materials andfunctional products to seek premium market of local bedding industry andtextiles for everyday life.

Korean buyers who are major domestic brandsand sports brands such as Shinsung Tongsang, Fashion Group Hyungji, ShinwonGroup, Wivis, Baba Fashion, Youngone Outdoor, Sae-A Commercial, HansaeIndustries, Hansung FI, Pan-Pacific Group, Evezary, Andar, and XEXYMIXparticipated, and also buyers from Dongdaemun Shopping Center and designers forthe Korean market, anticipating for active consultations.

PID Organizing Committee Chairman ChoJung-moon said,“As it is held in a difficult period of the COVID-19 situation,we will do our best to make it a successful business exhibition that putsthorough quarantine of exhibitors and visitors first."

As an event, Youngdo Velvet will be runningan experience program called “Velvet, the Happy Life” at the booth, and presentvelvet scarf to the first 20 people who come to the booth every day. Inaddition, it will run a live YouTube broadcasting in real time to promote theexhibitors at the exhibition site.

This real-time live will be held from May12 (Wed) to 13 (Thursday), and will be broadcast for two days from 11am to 4pm.Those who pre-register for the event Preview in Daegu LIVE will be eligible toenter the live broadcasting connection event.
