GS Global participated in the InternationalGreen Energy Expo 2021 held at EXCO, Daegu from April 28 (Wed) to 30 (Fri) andintroduced its solar power equipment and materials supplying to the Koreanmarket.

GS Global is a general trading company withbusiness experience, expertise, and worldwide sales network, and has formedstrategic partnerships with major Chinese solar equipment manufacturers.Through cooperation with solar power equipment manufacturers in Korea andoverseas, the company is exporting to overseas market. It is also looking forpartners for distributing equipment and materials and participating inprojects.

At the Green Energy Expo exhibition hall,AVING News met GS Global Team Leader Geum Chang-hyeon to interview on the solarpower equipment and materials.

Q1. Company introduction

A. Geum: GS Global is a general tradingcompany affiliated with the GS Group, with a history of more than 50 years andhas considerable strengths in the distribution of equipment and materials suchas exports and imports. Based on such strengths, we are introducing China'scompetitive equipment in this exhibition to promote PR activities.

Q2. About our product

A. Geum: For the module inverter structure,which is the core equipment of solar power, we have signed a partnership with aleading Chinese company to propose to Korean customers as a package product.

Customers' needs are being graduallydiversified in Korean solar market. As a dual brand of Chinese manufacturers,GCL and Huang Tien, we are trying to supply price competitiveness, high-powermodules, and even efficiency to suit customer needs.

Also, according to the power generationcapacity, we have launched four types of inverter of 50kW, 60kW, 100kW and120kW, providing customized products.

We have also formed a partnership withChinese company Antai, the company that specializes in aluminum structures,especially roof structures. As a field type, we try to match the specificationsdesired by customers by using both sides of the aluminum POSMAC structure.

Q3. Warranty period

A. Geum: The warranty period variesslightly for each product. The module has a 12-year product warranty and a30-year performance warranty. The inverter has free warranty period of fiveyears, but when the customer wants more, we are considering to increase thewarranty period. The structure has a 10-year free warranty. We import productsfrom China, but issues product warranties in our own brand GS.

Q4. GS Global's renewable energy business status

A. Geum: The Renewable Energy Team waslaunched last year. It is considered fairly a new team. First, we consideredimporting the products to Korea. From this year, we are looking to export theproducts to the US, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

The overseas project development projectbegan five years ago, but we have sold it, and we are now reviewing it again.We have been working on developing projects in Japan and Australia, and is nowlooking at overseas project development projects mainly in Sri Lanka andBangladesh.

Q5. Advantages of solar power

A. Geum: Currently, the most importanttopic these days is eco-friendliness, and various eco-friendly concepts such asESG and RE100 are emerging.

Some people misunderstand that solar powergeneration damages the nature, but these days, with the release of high-power,high-efficiency products and materials that can conserve nature in many ways,the damage can be minimized. I think solar power is the best energy source toachieve carbon neutrality and coal phase-out by 2050.

Q6. Purpose of participation in the exhibition

A. Geum: The main purpose is to promote ourbrand to many customers. I also participated in the exhibition last year, but Inoticed differences between last year and this year. This year, it seems thatthe atmosphere has become an exhibition centered on large companies.

Q7. Future plans

A. Geum: Until this year, we will befocusing on the distribution business of package equipment. In the future, I amthinking of focusing on domestic and overseas development projects, repoweringprojects that are expected to be active from February of next year, and BIPVprojects that will be active around 2024-2025.

As a general trading company, we will offerthe best solutions to occupy such a position that we can supply the valuenumber one solution that customers want.
