2021 Digital Great Transformation Expo began on the 25th, Operated a Digital New Deal Experience Program!

- Participation in exhibitions by 175 companies including small and mid-sized enterprises and pioneering enterprises in the digital field

- Held the Global AI Summit, industry (business) export/investment conference, etc.

The Digital Transformation Expo (Expo) was held from November 25 (Thu) to 28 (Sun) at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do. The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Hyesuk Lim, hereinafter referred to as the MSICT) prepared this expo to share the achievements and efforts of the government and the private sector in the era of great digital transformation and to support exports of domestic companies.

Held for the first time this year, this event is co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gyeonggi-do and Goyang-si, and co-organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Korea Network Information Center, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), KINTEX, and MBC.

Various events will be held in the expo, including an ▲Exhibition where you can experience various innovative products and services of digital companies, ▲ 'Global AI Summit' participated by renowned industry, academia, and research experts in the field of AI, ▲Business consultations to support the export and investment attraction of domestic companies, as well as ▲'ICT INNO FESTA', a venue for information and communication technology company exchanges. At the exhibition, domestic small and mid-sized enterprises, pioneering companies, and sprouting companies (about 175 companies, 330 exhibition halls) showcased various products and service.

The 'Digital New Deal Special Pavilion' in the center of the exhibition hall operated various programs such as data labeling, virtual reality/augmented reality device experience, and unmanned terminal education so that the public could directly experience the digital new deal. The Global AI Summit will be held for two days from November 25th to the 26th, and will invite industry, academia, and research experts who are leading the AI field, such as Professor Yoshua Bengio at the University of Montreal and Professor Stuart Russell at UC Berkeley, as speakers to share the latest technology trends and forecast the future industry development directions.

The business consultation meeting will be held to provide an export/investment counseling center in the exhibition hall amid the difficult economic situation due to the Coronavirus for digital companies to expand their overseas sales channels and attract investment, with participation by 190 overseas importers, 200 domestic companies, and venture capital companies. Considering the severe COVID-19 situation, the event was held in strict compliance with quarantine rules such as pre- and post-disinfection, hand sanitization, and temperature measurement.

Park Yoon-gyu, Head of Information and Communication Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said "Fierce competition between major countries is taking place to secure global leadership in the era of digital transformation. Our government is promoting Digital New Deal, a national innovation project, and we will spare no effort in policy so that our country can lead the future through close cooperation with the private sector.”

The 2021 Digital Transformation Expo hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Gyeonggi-do, and Goyang-si and co-organized by the NIPA, Korea Network Information Center, KOTRA, KINTEX, Messe Sang, and MBC is a comprehensive exhibition to experience digital innovation technologies such as AI and 5G, business opportunities, and exchanges of related information. The exhibition will hold events such as 'Global AI Summit', a conference to share discourses on the AI ​​industry and exchange and information among industry workers, 'Export Consultation' to provide export opportunities for AI firms, and 'DT Innovation Awards' to enhance industrial vitality by awarding AI innovative companies.
