Environmental Corporation of Gwangju, manages and operates environment basic facilities such as sewage water, food waste, manure, sewage treatment facility for treating household garbage, and food resource facility in Gwangju area and is promoting waste resource recycling and eco-friendly management..

It is operating the first sewage treatment plant in Gwangju, which treats total sewage treatment and purification by the NPR of 600,000 tons / day, such as daily sewage in Gwangju area and leachate in Unjeong-dong landfill, and Yooduk agency, the second food resource recycling facility which produces high-quality dietary feed and biogas(methane) by treating 300 tons of food waste per day with dry feed method.

Manager Yang Eu-Ddeum said, "The food waste generated in Gwangju per person is the best in the country, and the corporation is looking for ways to reduce food waste by working with Gwangju City and various agencies” and added, "We hope to reduce the amount of food waste through this program, which encourages separate emission and discharge of households”.

Meanwhile, in ‘The 9^th International Climate Environment Fair’ export consultation, environmentally distributed rainwater management methodology (LID methodology), a food collection system using RFID, an environmentally friendly processing system for animals, an environmental pollution prevention facility, and an energy plant will be introduced. In addition, various programs such as export consultation, MOU conclusion, job fair, symposium, workshop are prepared.
