At the 'Try Everything 2022 Awards' companies that contributed to the development of the startup ecosystem in Seoul were selected.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government held the global startup festival 'Try Everything 2022' at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) from September 21st (Wednesday) to the 23rd (Friday).

At this event, competitions were held by integrating ‘National Startup Audition’(for startups for 3 years or less), ‘Korea Challenge’ (For startups between 3 to 7 years), and excellent Venture Capitals (VCs) in each category.

Prior to the awards Ceremony, Seoul Metropolitan Government, which organized the event, Bo-Yeon Hwang, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s economic policy office expressed his feelings about holding a large-scale offline event after COVID - 19.

Prior to the awards Ceremony, Bo-Yeon Hwang, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s economic policy office said, “the Try Everything event, which marks its third anniversary this year, has been centered online, but this year we’re focusing on offline. So, we prepared this event with the mindset of doing it for the first time. The city of Seoul will support and accompany startups that will expand globally. We are standing at a crossroad for a new leap forward, but large companies, mid-sized companies, startups, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government will join hands to overcome this crisis," he said.

Hyun-woo, Kim CEO of the Seoul Business Agency, also participated in the awards ceremony. "I'm even more proud that it's growing into a global event as the years go by. The industrial paradigm is shifting. The startup executives and staff who participated in this event are changing Korea and the world. The future of Korea and the future of Seoul depends on your shoulders," he said, "The Seoul Industrial Promotion Agency will work hard to support till the day we reach top 5 in the world," he said.

Meanwhile, the city of Seoul has been selected as a Global TOP 10 city to start a business. Various players of the startup ecosystem, such as global corporations, investment institutions, unicorn companies, and the media will attend to accelerate the invigoration of the Seoul startup ecosystem. Accordingly, over 40 programs, such as competitions, lectures, and seminars, will be held at Try Everything 2022, and various global institutions and Korean and foreign startup ecosystem experts, such as South Summit, Extreme Tech Challenge, Startup Genome, and the U.S. EMBASSY & CONSULATE, will be in attendance.
