A conference which shares the success story of a company which is about to collect almost a million US dollars, in funding will be held. Yolk, the maker of Solar Paper, is the first company in Korea to be noticed this much in Kickstarter.

The conference will be held in Aug. 25 under the name “Conversation of Congeniality: Crowdfunding Tips(subtitle: Yolk Hits the Egg Yolk), and it will be hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, and co-organized by Daegu Technopark and Institute for Information & Communications Technology Promotion.

Sungun Chang, the CEO of Yolk, and the crowdfunding specialist Choi Dong-cheol of Wadiz are going to be invited as guest speakers to share the newest information on crowdfunding including tips on how to win at crowdfunding.

Yolk is really the first startup company in Korea that can be defined as a definite success in crowdfunding, and its story has been published in more than 250 media channels. Major IT media including Engadget and Mashable reported on the issue, and the interview of Chang has been broadcasted in CNBC, owned by NBC of the US. As of Aug. 19, it has reached over 1,900% percent of its goal with $960,000.

The success of international crowdfunding is the barometer of how it will do in the global market. The backers represent the consumers of the product, which means that crowdfunding is the test board before it launches in the market. Also, it is the natural course for venture capitals and investment companies take interest in the companies that has been previously spotlighted through crowdfunding, and these companies have a better chance in getting the investment.
