The Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, (KISED, President Kim Yong-Moon) announced that 20 promising Korean startups will be participating in SLUSH 2022, held in Helsinki, Finland for two days from November 17 (Thursday) to 18 (Friday), where they will interact with other startups, investors, and buyers to lay the groundwork for entering the European market.

SLUSH is a renowned Northern European global startup exhibition, first held in 2008, where startups from around the world meet major investors in Europe and Finland.

KISED has been offering a four-month online and offline 1:1 mentoring program with local experts since last July for the startups participating in the event to help them improve their English pitching skills and to validate the market suitability of their products and services.

The 20 startup companies participating in SLUSH 2022 took part in promoting their companies by running the K-STARTUP Pavilion, the side event “K-STARTUP Demo Day,” and networking with professional investors using a matchmaking tool.

In particular, KISED actively promoted the startup ecosystem of Korea by introducing the startups and their products and services to foreign buyers and investors, and with a K-Startup promotion video featuring speakers from major Korean unicorn companies such as The Pinkfong Company, Crafton, and Watcha.

In addition, KISED hosted “K-STARTUP Demo Day,” an exclusive side event, on November 17, where startups took part in IR pitching, networking, and interviews with global media outlets while investment agencies from various countries attended.

Also, the participating companies were given the opportunity to engage in 1:1 networking with local investors around the globe, including Northern Europe, according to their needs and areas of business using a matchmaking tool.

KISED President Kim Yong-Moon said, “We anticipate SLUSH 2022 to be an opportunity for Korean startups to showcase their outstanding technology and innovation so that they can elevate the standing of Korean startups and attract investment from international investors to achieve real investment outcomes.”
