So far, structures floating on the sea and
lighting systems for heliports on ships were only from Europe. But a Korean
mid-sized company announced that it will enter this market.
Daeyang Electric participated in the 18th
International LED & OLED EXPO 2020 in KINTEX on Nov. 11-13 and introduced
many of its lighting equipment for ships its new product helideck lighting
system.
Since its establishment in Busan in 1977,
Daeyang Electric had focused on the production of marine lighting equipment,
and now, it is standing firmly as a mid-sized company that has been supplying
marine lighting to three domestic shipbuilders for over 40 years.
In this show, Daeyang Electric is focusing
on promoting the self-developed helideck lighting system. It is a lighting
system installed in helicopter landing facilities that can be installed on oil
rigs, offshore structures, and ships. So far, foreign companies mainly located
in Europe had been dominating the market, and the possibility of localization
is raised through this product.
Department Head Park Chan-wook, who participated in the event, said, "In recognition of our long history and ability in the field of offshore lighting, we are showing a market share of around 90% in the domestic ship lighting market. It can only be delivered with excellent technology and when its stability is recognized internationally, and the market share is proving the stability." He also said, "We have explosion-proof certifications such as IECEX and ATEX, and we meet international standards such as UK CAA certification, so we are qualified to install our products in hazardous areas."
