These days, indoor life is being emphasized, and more than ever, advanced products that help with health, work competency, and psychological stability are needed.

Samsung Electronics participated in the 18th International LED & OLED EXPO 2020 in KINTEX on Nov. 11-13 and introduced the human centric lighting solution made by integrating the lighting technology and health science.

The human-centric system, which aims to focus on human-centered lighting, is implementing lighting that supports human minds while introducing new technologies to ensure healthy light. Under the motto "Good light completes a healthy day, we are manufacturing LED packages and modules for lighting fixtures that can be used in offices, hospitals, commercial facilities as well as homes.

If you have to work with a bright light even at night, you can use a warm light that helps secrete melatonin. On the other hand, if you have to work in darker environment during the day, you can choose a lighting condition that gives the same effect as natural light even if it is a little dark with the development of the LED package. The company tried to provide lights that are as healthy and natural as possible, and the products that do that were introduced in the show.

Samsung Electronics' LM302N adjusts the light of the blue-green wavelength that affects the secretion of melatonin, and consists of two lineups, LM302N DAY and LM302N NITE. LM302N DAY emits light with a wavelength that minimizes the secretion of melatonin, helping to improve concentration while using the light. Also, LM302N NITE can effectively be used in homes and hotels that require a comfortable rest by minimizing the awakening effect due to lighting.

Park Yeon-hui, the manager of Samsung Electronic' LED Business Team who attended the event, said, "As more and more people are spending time indoors due to COVID-19, the interest towards healthy lighting is also increasing. Spending time in closed space not knowing the sun cycle can disrupt the biorhythm, so it's important to choose a lighting that can energize during the day and relax at night."

This exhibition is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, LED Industry Forum, and KOTRA and is hosted by EXPO&U. The exhibition items are LEDs & LED Lighting Products, LED Chips / LED Components, Accessories & Raw Materials, LED Signage & LED Displays, Micro-LED Allied Products, UV(Ultra-Violet) LED Applications, LED Applications, LED Manufacturing Equipment / Machinery / Fixtures & Allied Products, Testing Laboratories & Research Organization, and Smart Light Building.
