Hancom Lifecare introduced its air breathing device with communication feature SCA 10 at 2019 Korea Innovative Safety and Security Expo held in KINTEX 1 on Sep. 25-27.
At the fire scene, firefighters wear air breathing device and other fire protection equipment to protect their bodies. But, they often inhibit mobility and cause problems with communication.
Hancom Lifecare has developed this product to reduce the grievances of these firefighters, and furthermore to enable communication among the firefighters, which is essential for their lives as well as for the safety of their citizens.
The product features a built-in loudspeaker that allows communication even while wearing the air respirator, and enables communication with a colleague who uses the radio outside the building by simply wearing the air breathing device.
In particular, by using IoT convergence technology, users can communicate with colleagues far away from the fire scene with the built-in wireless PTT and ear speaker, and the electronic pressure gauge makes it easy to check the remaining air, battery level, and surrounding temperature, maximizing the survival rate of the firefighters.
The official said, "I am very sorry that the current condition of the firefighting equipment is quite poor when it is crucial for saving lives. I hope this exhibition raises the awareness of the safety of the firefighters from Korea as well as the world."
