"KOREA EXCON WEEK" will be held at COEX C Hall from 19.1.16-17 in order to expand the base of Korea's exhibition convention industry and to strengthen the exchange between related industries. With a scale of 200 participating companies and 300 booths, more than 5,000 buyers are expected to visit.
KOREA EXCON WEEK will be jointly organized by the Association of Korea Exhibition Industry, Korean Exhibition Managers Association (한국전시장운영자협회), Korea Exhibition Organizers Association, Korea Exhibition Design Installation Assocation, and the Korea Exhibition Service Providers Association, and will sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the city of Seoul, the Indian Exhibition Industry Association, and other related organs.
The Korean exhibition and convention industry is an industry that has a great impact on the economy and it is called a golden industry without a chimney. It is an industry that has the effects of creating 239,170 employment opportunities, inducing \23,324,000,000,000 in production, and adding value totalling up to \10,177,900,000,000, and is an axis of Korea's economic development.
The Association of Korea Exhibitions Industry and other organizers will develop the Korean exhibition industry to the next level through this exhibition to enhance the competitiveness of domestic exhibitions and provide opportunities for companies in the exhibition convention industry to enter overseas markets.
Major exhibits will include the exhibition infrastructure hall, convention industry hall, exhibition service hall, support organization hall, technology innovation hall, marketing collaboration hall, and overseas cooperation hall.
The main participating organizations in the exhibition infrastructure hall are the exhibition convention center, organizers of exhibition, exhibition convention industry related educational organizations, laboratories, and exhibition associations. PCO, event companies, hotels, and travel agencies are scheduled to be in the convention industry hall. The exhibition service hall will be the location to find design installation companies and service companies for consultations.
The support organization hall will be shared by the exhibition industry association, local government, KOTRA, trade association, Small & Medium Business Corporation, Korea Federation of SMEs, Small Enterprise and Market Service, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Gyeonggi MICE Bureau, Seoul Tourism Organization, Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise, Incheon Tourism Organization, Jeju Convention Bureau, and others, and each public organization will promote and share information of their own exhibition related support businesses.
In addition, the media, promotion & marketing agents, and home shopping companies will be participating in the marketing collaboration hall. The overseas cooperation hall will have participation from Promosalons, Singapore Jublia, and overseas exhibition agents, and they are scheduled to introduce new information that reflects the conditions of the exhibition industry in different nations and the international changes in the exhibition convention industry.

KOREA EXCON WEEK will be attended by the ministry of industry and other relevant departments, the city of Seoul, local governments, KOTRA, Small Enterprise and Market Service, Association of Korea Exhibition Industry, and other public organizations with decision making power. ASIA KOREA EXCON FORUM
The "2019 Asia Exhibition Convention Forum" will be held on 1.15, the day before the exhibition. This year's forum focused on how the exhibition and convention industry can reorganize and expand its business while all industries are changing rapidly due to the development of technology.
CEO David DuBois of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, which possesses a research laboratory for the exhibition industry, will explain the trends of the rapidly changing global exhibition industry, and former Koelnmesse vice-president and current top consultant of the German consulting agency JWC, Dr. Gerd Weber, will share information on the growth of the global exhibition industry and M&A.
Also, President Margaret Ma Connolly of Informa in Asia, the world's largest exhibition organizer which merged with UBM this past June, will be covering the synergy effect of merging and the effects on the Asian market. CEO Changryeol Lim of KINTEX, Korea's largest exhibition center, will present the case study of how they were selected as the organizer for India's largest integrated exhibition convention, India International Convention and Expo Centre, beating out leading companies from the advanced countries of France, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
In addition, NürnbergMesse India CEO Sonia Prashar, Messe München subsidiary IMAG CEO Peter Bergleiter, and Professor Yeongtae Cho of the Graduate School of Public Health of Seoul National University will have lectures on the entering of overseas market for German exhibitions, the opportunities and risks of the Indian market, and predictions for the demographics of the future.
