
'Korea Public Procurement Expo 2017', which helps technical and excellent procurement products to advance overseas market and links small and medium-sized procurement companies to purchasing managers of demanding agencies, was opened today (19th) at Goyang KINTEX.
This expo will be the largest in history with participants of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Yoo, Il-Ho, Minister of Industry and Commerce Joo, Young-Hwan, Small and Medium Business Administrator Joo, Yung-Sup, Goyang Mayor Choi, Sung and Chairman of Small and Medium Business Center Park, Sung-Taek as well as both domestic and overseas buyers and sellers including Korean Ambassadors from two countries including Jordan and Korea, and Vietnam Procurement Officer.

This year, there were 286 participating companies(738 booths), which was a 14% growth compared to the previous year, and 114 foreign buyers from 25 countries including USA, Jpan, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Ghana.
In addition, 32 procurement officials from 9 international organizations including OECD, ITC and WTO along with 7 countries including Vietnam were invited. In this expo, various international events were opened including 'International Electronic Procurement' and 'Commerce Expansion Workshop'.
Furthermore, various procurement items were displayed in 6 zones such as Excellent Procurement Products, New Technology Products, National Safety related Products, Venture Countries, New Enterprise Products, Traditional Culture Products and Traditional Liquor. Also, tablet PCs, laptops, LED lights, traditional handicrafts and traditional liquor were sold at discount prices to consumers.
For Purchasing Officers of Public Agencies, events such as Purchasing Practical Training, 1:1 Matching Public Purchasing Conference, Korea Purchasing Procurement Conference, Spring Academic Conference were held. International Electronic Procurement, Commerce Expansion Workshop, ITC Joint Public Procurement Work were opened for international procurement participants as well.
Besides, it is preparing [Overseas Market Advancement Briefing] for the United States and the United Nations to support Korean companies' entry into overseas procurement market.
Procurement Director Jung, Yang-Ho said, "We expect that the expo will achieve exports of about 30 billion won." He continued, "In the future, we will make the expo to become an exhibition of advertising the technologies of Korean Procurement Companies to the world."
