Makgeolli King of Mask Singer, a special singing contest, was held at Jarasum Makgeolli Festival 2016, was held Oct. 7-9 at Jarasum, Gapyeong City. It was hosted by Korea Makgeolli Association, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Gyeonggi Province, and Gapyeong City and sponsored by aT, Korail Eastern Metropolitan Headquarter, and Naminara Republic of Korea.
The grand prize winner of the contest was a 40-year-old woman named Lee Ji-young, receiving one million KRW.

About fifty people applied for this contest, and 15 contestants that passed the preliminary sang at the contest. The winner Lee Ji-young sang "It's Raining Men", and the first runner-up Kim Dong-hun(19) received 700,000 KRW. Four other people received the prize for outstanding performance and popularity.

In this year's festival, about 150 breweries were introduced with 600 makgeolli, along with 300 tents to converge camping culture to traditional drinking culture.
