Korea Tektronix introduced video devices and solutions, selected for 2016 Rio Olympic Broadcasting development in KOBA 2016, held in Coex Hall A, C and D from May 24th (Tue) to 27th (Fri).
Tektronix who lead the innovation of video quality and monitoring solution, recently delivered a message that they were selected an official distributor of audio for Olympic game broadcasting, video test and quality monitoring devices from Aug. 5th to 21st in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil by NBC Sports Group's NBC Olympics.
As the procedure of Olympic Game broadcasting has been complex, stable test and monitoring solutions are needed to provide high quality contents to audiences.
NBC Olympics broadcaster decided to get Tektronix' video testing equipment, WFM7200, WVR7200, WFM5200, WVR5200 ripple monitor, rasterizer, SPG8000A master, master clock reference generator and Sentry video quality monitor to support Rio Olympic broadcasting.
The equipment are used to monitor and test the quality of video and audio contents by NBC Olympics' broadcast producing, recording, editing and workflow.
In UHD application case, NBC is planning to use WFM8300 ripple monitor which supports the ITU-R BT. 2020(Wide Color Gamut) standard and various UHD forms.
Tektronix' ripple monitor and rasterizer are going to be used for monitoring the every video and audio spectrum by NBC Olympics Broadcaster.
The selected models have a lot of display abilities and high availability of TDD and complete audio monitoring.
This equipment is going to be utilized at contents making and quality controlling after the recording and editing. They are also used to solve the problems in facility installation and maintenance.
Tektronix' SPG8000A master and clock reference generator will be used for stable timing and synchronizing maintenance for mobile, studio, recording, editing and broad casting operation by NBC Olympics.
This equipment provides video verification, facility connecting test, display revision, video and audio reference signal and 3G/HD-SDI test ability.
SPG8000A device also supports IEEE 1588PTP(Precision Time Protocol) standard and provides solution to change the system timing hybrid SDI or IP infra through IP.
Sentry video quality monitor will be used to maintain the developed video quality which transmit to U.S. and guarantee the live broadcasting of NBC Olympics.
Meanwhile, KOBA 2016 is hosted by KOREA E & EX and The Korea Broadcasting Engineers & Technicians Association, aiming to advance and improve Korean broadcasting culture, video, audio and light industry. World Media Forum, International Conference and Technology Seminar, and other various broadcasting equipment events will also take place at the same time.
