What kind of company is Digital Motion Entertainment?
Digital Motion Entertainment specializes in 3D total solutions. We not only provide hardware for 3D content production, but also produce 3D contents based on that. Our goal is to produce fun contents focusing on three key concepts: motion recognition, augmented reality, and virtual reality. We are working hard, as we consider ourselves entertainers who create unique contents.
Please tell us about Digital Motion Entertainment's major business models and products.
We are focusing on the production of "Real Live Avatar" service, based on real-time motion recognition technology, and "Sensory Sports App Contents", which is based on virtual and augmented reality technology. Unlike existing contents with simple finger controls, we possess differentiated contents that people can experience.
"Real Live Avatar" is content that enables one to have a conversation with 3D characters in a real environment, all combined with augmented reality. This can be utilized in various industries, including broadcasting, exhibitions, and events. "Sensory Sports App Contents" was developed based on the idea that the entire body can be used as a controller. By using virtual reality and motion analysis technology, characters and backgrounds can move realistically.
I heard the company is focusing on entering foreign markets. What are your target countries, and what is Digital Motion Entertainment's competitiveness in foreign markets?
Digital Motion Entertainment's goal is to provide app contents that can be experienced based on virtual reality, augmented reality, and motion analysis technology. We are combining various technologies, so that users can experience contents with their bodies -- far beyond simple touch interactions. Furthermore, at reasonable prices, we will lead the future market by launching smart contents that combine with interactive equipment, including HMD, AR Glasses, and Motion Capture System.
Please tell us the reason why the company participated in 'SLUSH 2015' and how it will develop its business through this exhibition.
Before, we were focusing on B2B business due to the characteristics of our technology. We will accelerate app content supply and the business through the exhibition, which will be our starting point. As technology is developing quickly and the price of hardware is decreasing, we would like to provide virtual reality service to the general public, all at an affordable price, keeping pace with market changes.
To achieve this, Digital Motion Entertainment will launch the virtual reality game "Korea Winter Game 3" in December. We will create added value in the game, healthcare, and education fields by supplying interactive contents that everyone can use at a reasonable price. This is done through our virtual and augmented reality and motion analysis technologies, even after 2016.
The National IT Industry Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning selected the five most outstanding companies at the K-ICT Smart Content Center. The selected companies participated in "SLUSH 2015", a global startup conference held in Helsinki, Finland, and showcased domestic smart content technologies and services until Nov. 12, local time.
