Jeong Woo EMT (CEO Park Byeong-seon, www.koreambr.co.kr) introduced the BIO-CEL XL, the world's largest submerged MBR module, at the 37th International Exhibition on Environmental Technology & Green Energy (ENVEX 2015), which runs Jun. 2-5 at COEX.
Until 2014, the membrane area of the BIO-CEL was categorized into 10m², 50m², 100m², and 416m². These days, there is a growing trend to adopt the market-expanding MBR technology for large-scale projects of more than 10,000m³/d. Thus, MICRODYN-NADIR has developed the BIO-CEL® XL module, which can be applied to large projects of more than 2,000m³/d.
The BIO-CEL XL module has a total membrane area of 1,920m², and its housing connecting structure is made of stainless steel. The operating system is the same as the smaller BIO-CEL module.
In addition, it has been successfully utilized at a municipal sewage treatment plant since August 2013. The company also showcased the External Circulation Smart MBR® at the exhibition.

A total of 250 companies from 22 different countries participated in the exhibition, including 181 domestic and 69 international companies, with many from the United States, China, Japan, and Europe.
At the event, 2,000 new environmental technologies and eco-friendly products are on display. These products are expected to lead the environment industry.
