LAS VEGAS, USA (AVING Special Report on 'interbike 2008') -- <Visual News> Michelin presented its pilot sport tire at the Interbike Expo in Las Vegas from September 24-26, 2008.
The latest addition to the city lineup, Michelin Pilot Sport tire looks set to enjoy the same success as its counterparts for cars and motorcycles. It is intended for cyclists who want efficiency and high performance, combined with lightness and ease of use on urban terrain.
Its special rubber compound and tread derived from MotoGP motorcycle racing help provide a level of grip approaching that of the Michelin Pro3 Race road racing tire. With a 33 tpi casing, its rolling resistance numbers are some of the lowest in its segment.
The PROTEK HD(High Density) puncture-resistant layer was initially developed for racing, but in the Pilot Sport, it improves puncture resistance by 17 percent over the PROTEX MAX series tires. To make it lighter, it also incorporates foldable clincher bead technology.
