MIPCOM, is the world's leading content market for creating, co-producing, buying, selling, financing and distributing entertainment across all platforms, greeting its 26th anniversary this year. It is the international marketplace where related industry players attend, network and conduct business.
KOCCA manages the Korea Pavilion with total 54 corporations this year such as TV programs importing exporting related corporations, animation manufacturing and distribution related corporations, character license, merchandising related corporations, mobile contents, interactive TV related industries, etc.
The participating corporations in the drama, documentary, entertainment area include 25 corporations such as KBS media, MBC, SBS contents hub, EBS, CJ media, Mnet media, MBC plus media, Arirang TV, etc, introducing popular TV programs of their companies. In addition, 29 animation corporations including Loy Visual, Samji, Booz, Synergy Media, iConics, etc, will introduce their core contents.
Meanwhile, at the MIPJunior held at the Martinez hotel from October 2 to 3 before the formal ceremony, 65 programs of 33 corporations are enrolled & supported. MIPJunior exporting conference is also held, supporting a business matching event between internal animation corporations and global corporations. A total of 17 corporations will participate at the exporting conference.
At the 'Asia Content Exchange' proceeded before noon on October 6, Wednesday, the first such ceremony attempted in MIPCOM, 21 pieces in the drama, docu, format area of 3 countries; Korea, China, and Japan, will be gathered and introduced in front of buyers around the world. A total of 7 pieces such as 'Golden bell Challenge' of KBS media in 'Format', 'Road No.1' of MBC, 'the Musical' of Everyshow in 'Drama', 'The Mammoth, Titan of the Ice Age' of EBS in 'Documentary', will be designated for the exporting conference.
KOCCA has stated that it is expecting the installment of the Korean Pavilion in MIPCOM will facilitate the exporting of internal contents and improve international competitiveness. It stated to induce the manufacturing of internal contents and introduce our culture to the world by supporting the exporting of internal broadcasting corporations from the government level.
President Jae Woong Lee of the KOCCA stated that "the Korean Pavilion is a marketing activity of Korean contents in order for the Korean trend to spread constantly around the world", adding that "we will continue to support the Korean trend and look for ways to spread it in the world by accumulating related information from abroad, and establishing the required network."
Meanwhile, KOCCA is holding an advertising event of the Center at the MICOM opening party under the title of 'What Wonder in Korea', and is planning to maximize the release of Korean contents targeted at potential buyers.
