BlockXen will participate in the Seoul
Pavilion in CES 2021, the world's largest technology exhibition, to showcase
Cloudgear, its portable game console.
The company staff said, "Cloudgear is
a console that relieves the stress that customers get from preparing for the
game. Previously, people wanted to stream games to their smartphones, but this
was quite inconvenient. Operating with a touch interface covers the screen and
there was no feedback, and the streaming had too much input delay due to the
heavy OS. When connecting to auxiliary devices like gamepads, it gave us
headaches, and the bandwidth was insufficient, making streaming difficult
outside the home. Cloudgear solves these problems. The stress of using software
is unnecessary because customers have to prepare a lot to get started with the
game. Our product is a console that lets you only think about how to enjoy the
game, not how to start the game."
We are looking for the following partners.
Law firms familiar with Consumer Protection Law. Rather than limiting streaming
to just privately owned games, it's actually constrained in many countries to
evolve into a person-to-person P2P network. This is because game distribution
platforms (ESDs) distribute game licenses in the form of semi-permanent
subscriptions rather than free ownership, and reuse and used transactions are
prohibited. If we can make a breakthrough in this problem, we will be able to
combine the game private rental service with Cloudgear's infrastructure.
Hardware manufacturer: Our production capacity focuses only on development prototyping and is not optimal for mass production. Even if only methodological help could be obtained, it would be of great significance.
Game developer: In the long run, we want to secure not only games that come from the desktop through streaming, but also games that run as exclusive titles on Cloudgear's software platform. We are also planning games that are optimized from the point of development for gaming in the form of installing in a cloud environment and enjoyed by streaming.
Continuing from last year, Seoul Metropolitan City has set up Seoul Pavilion in CES 2021 this year as well. It will be promoting 15 outstanding companies selected in the three areas of △Transportation·Environment, △Safety·Welfare, and △Economy·Living. These companies have been selected through the evaluation of their abilities to enter the overseas market, and they will be provided with the expenses to participate in the CES online exhibition, and also with the opportunity to participate in the first Live CES Seoul event held by the global investor Plug-and-Play. Visitors can check the 15 participating companies and programs at the CES 2021 Seoul Pavilion at smartseoul.net.
