Dinosoles is the company that manufactures "dinosaur shoes" with dinosaurs that children love as the theme. AVING News interviewed Kim Hyeon-su, the CEO of Dinosoles, which participated in the MIK HOT SPOT (Made in Korea Online Exhibition) KTVF.
Please introduce your company.
Hello, I am Kim Hyeon-su from Dinosoles,
the company that fulfills children's imagination about dinosaurs. Dinosoles is
a compound word of dinosaur and sole, which refers to dinosaurs shoes.
Dinosoles was established in 2015, and after about two years of preparation
period for design and product, we entered the domestic market in 2017.
Please describe the features of the product.
Dinosoles is a company that makes dinosaur
shoes. It developed the 3D dinosaur mold to attach it to shoes. Children can
touch, see and feel the shoes, which is a good point. Another feature of
Dinosoles' shoes is that there are footprints of dinosaurs on the outsole of
the shoes, so children can leave dinosaurs' footprints on the sand or beach.
Also, every time you walk, the LED lights come out from the back of the
dinosaur's eyes or shoes, and children love it.
And, we are currently developing the
clothing. It is a 3D figure t-shirt. This figure is made of 100% natural latex,
so it has elasticity, and it has successfully replicated dinosaur teeth, soles,
and toenails of the dinosaurs. Children can get the feeling that there is a
dinosaur in them.
Please introduce the members of the company.
Dinosoles is made up of three teams: sales
team in charge of domestic and overseas markets, design team making dinosaur
designs, and content team developing dinosaur-related content that will be
opened in the future.
What are the current business situation and future plans?
Dinosoles has closed an exclusive contract
with Toebox Korea, Korea's first multi children's shoe shop, which pretty much
covers the domestic distribution. We are currently in negotiation process as we
are sending samples.
The target customers of Dinosoles are
children aged 3 to 8 years old, and most children of this age like dinosaurs.
So, children always image about dinosaurs. With these 3D dinosaur shoes,
children are able to see and feel dinosaurs. We want to help children make
their imagination. We will try to establish the concept of Dinosoles
symbolizing dinosaurs and vice versa in the world.
We are making the effort to spread the name
Dinosoles in Korea and also in the world. It is our goal to build the image of
Dinosoles as Korea's major children's shoe brand, and we will continue making
the effort. Also, we will fulfill the imagination of children who like
Tell us about a KTVF program that was helpful.
In February 2020, we received the supported
from KTVF's Japan market entrance program. KTVF funded all the expenses when we
visited Japan. It also arranged a company-to-company meeting in Japan, and we
are currently communicating with a Japanese children's shoe distributor. It is
in fact difficult to enter the overseas market because of marketing. Knowing
this, KTVF's Japan market entrance program provided so much help to us. It was
so good that it provided us with an opportunity to take a step forward in
