Korea Startup Tech Show 2019, giving a
glimpse on the future of the local economy opened in Changwon Convention Center
from Oct. 23 to 25.
This event was designed to promote the
outstanding performance of the local startups, raise the enthusiasm for
startups and ventures with IR briefings, and create a culture where startups
are easily accessible.
In this year's show under the slogan
"WALK, RUN, FLY (for success)", there will be a total of 34 various programs
ranging from lectures to forums, networking, training and consultation, IR
pitching, cultural performances, investment road shows and maker festivals with
different topics for each day. They are technology and exchange for Day 1,
investment for Day 2, and cultural contents for Day 3. In addition, more than
110 startups nationwide and Gyeongnam and Changwon areas will exhibit and
introduce their ideas and items.
The special feature of this event is
that it maximizes the autonomy of the private sector by minimizing
institution-led events and utilizing private sectors' experiences and know-how.
This differentiated event provides the opportunities for startups to be
introduced to domestic and overseas venture capitals with real investment
attraction, business matching, and investment audition involving foreign
investors and domestic venture capitalists and activating network.
Also, various attractions such as
Gyeongnam Maker Festival, EDM party and AR/VR experience are prepared to expand
the contact with the public as well as the members of the founding ecosystem.

Province, Changwon-si, and Gyeongnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups said,
"The most important thing for startups is exchange and cooperation. I hope
that the startup ecosystem of Gyeongnam and Changwon reaches one step further
by having all participating startups get out of their small offices and
communicate freely and enjoy their time at this open square of festival.
The event was co-hosted by Gyeongnam
Province, Changwon-si and Gyeongnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and
organized by eight organizations including Changwon Industry Promotion Agency,
Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Youngsan University,
Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Foundation, Changwon-si Business Incubator
Association, Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering & Technology, Korea
Startup Forum, and COEX, designed to expand the stance of startup culture,
create technology-innovated startup ecosystem, and provide the venue of
cooperation among the members of the startup ecosystem. Particularly, this
