[Korea Startup Tech Show 2019] WALK, RUN, FLY! Fun and exciting startup show begins with great fanfare
[ Jane Lee 2019-10-23 ]

Korea Startup Tech Show 2019, giving a glimpse on the future of the local economy opened in Changwon Convention Center from Oct. 23 to 25.

This event was designed to promote the outstanding performance of the local startups, raise the enthusiasm for startups and ventures with IR briefings, and create a culture where startups are easily accessible.

In this year's show under the slogan "WALK, RUN, FLY (for success)", there will be a total of 34 various programs ranging from lectures to forums, networking, training and consultation, IR pitching, cultural performances, investment road shows and maker festivals with different topics for each day. They are technology and exchange for Day 1, investment for Day 2, and cultural contents for Day 3. In addition, more than 110 startups nationwide and Gyeongnam and Changwon areas will exhibit and introduce their ideas and items.

The special feature of this event is that it maximizes the autonomy of the private sector by minimizing institution-led events and utilizing private sectors' experiences and know-how. This differentiated event provides the opportunities for startups to be introduced to domestic and overseas venture capitals with real investment attraction, business matching, and investment audition involving foreign investors and domestic venture capitalists and activating network.

Also, various attractions such as Gyeongnam Maker Festival, EDM party and AR/VR experience are prepared to expand the contact with the public as well as the members of the founding ecosystem.

The official representing Gyeongnam Province, Changwon-si, and Gyeongnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups said, "The most important thing for startups is exchange and cooperation. I hope that the startup ecosystem of Gyeongnam and Changwon reaches one step further by having all participating startups get out of their small offices and communicate freely and enjoy their time at this open square of festival.

The event was co-hosted by Gyeongnam Province, Changwon-si and Gyeongnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and organized by eight organizations including Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Youngsan University, Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Foundation, Changwon-si Business Incubator Association, Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering & Technology, Korea Startup Forum, and COEX, designed to expand the stance of startup culture, create technology-innovated startup ecosystem, and provide the venue of cooperation among the members of the startup ecosystem. Particularly, this event makes a big significance in the sense that it is the first event to be organized by the cooperation among relevant organizations with the aim to activate the local startup ecosystem, evolving from the local events run by a single organization.
