Macurator received the support from Soongsil University Startup Support Group to exhibit at GITEX 2019 from Oct. 6 to 10 to introduce EV Pass, its kickboard service for tourist attractions.
EV Pass was founded in December last year by Kim Yeon-tae, the CEO of Macurator who is also a big data expert with Korea's top electric kickboard brand, EV Shop (CEO Yang Hae-rong) and Jeju Smart Mobility Lab (CEO Hyeon Seung-bo).
It can solve the problem of managing the charging and rental return of the shared electric kickboards, and at the same time, it can build and operate a managed sharing service in combination with a specific region or tourism products.
Eight EV Shop local distributors that have been built for over eight years was converted to EV Station, and the service which tourists can prepare with one payment for problems like bad charge or malfunction are also being prepared.
Macuratore has also developed a mobile station for electric kickboards to provides services such as delivery and collection where fixed stations are not available.
CEO Kim Yeon-tae said, "I think our kickboard business has potential among the millenials who love to experience while traveling. Our potential has been recognized and we have been chosen to enter Jeju Innovation Growth Center in December 2018."
He also said, "The BOLT Mobility from the US which Usain Bolt has invested has proposed to make a joint venture with us, and the company officials are coming to Jeju for discussion in November. We are also meeting other companies like with Europe's largest electric kickboard company and investors including EUREECA, Hyalescent Ventures, 500 Startups, Techstar and ECDVentures."
In its 39th year, GITEX 2019 was attended by more than 4,500 companies from 140 countries, and it is the major ICT exhibition in the Middle East and Africa sought by 100,000 overseas buyers.
A wide range of products and technologies from home appliances to telecommunications equipment, IT, and Industry 4.0 are displayed. Also, GITEX Future Stars, with more than 750 startups, 400 large investors and global accelerators, also took place.
Soongsil University Startup Support Group that participated in Gulf Information Technology Exhibition began its service with the name of SME Graduate School in 1983 was selected as the startup leading university in 2016.
