Korea International Boat Show 2019, which ended on May 12, has once again proved the status of the national marine leisure industry exhibition with the meaningful achievements of progression of domestic boats.
KIBS 2019 was held for four days, from May 9 to 12, in KINTEX and Gimpo Ara Marina participated by 249 exhibitors and buyers in 1,550 booths.
This year, Korean boat manufacturers have introduced their new products at the MADE IN KOREA booth, the large-scale exhibition area comprising of 500 booths. Noticeable achievements with domestic manufacturers were witnessed, including DETEC, a Korean boat manufacturer exhibiting in MADE IN KOREA booth, for holding its exports contract ceremony for supplying its aluminum boat to the overseas buyer whom DETEC had met last year at KIBS.
On the other hand, a variety of other events, including general users who are interested in marine leisure and professional users who use real boats, have also been actively held.
At the indoor exhibition hall of KINTEX, a lecture titled "Choosing the Right Boat for Boat Fishing" was given by Un Jung Choi, a performer of "Let's Go Boat Phishing", a professional TV program for boat fishing supported by Gyeonggi Province. And, a "Boat Trailer Driving Challenge" was held for activating a small-sized towing driver's license, which is essential for boat transportation.
Also, various boat and boat ride experiences were prepared at Gimpo Ara Marina, drawing interest and feeling of excitement from the participants.
The most notable event was "KIBS-Korea International Fishing Fair Co-hosting Agreement" signed by Gyeonggi Province and Korea Fishing Association.
With this agreement concluded with the mission of activating Korea's marine leisure industry and expanding its base, KIBS 2020 will be held together with Fishing Fair in March.
By opening the largest show in the fishing industry with a stable market, increase in the visitors is highly expected. Along with new and improved exhibition items, this is the reason for seeing KIBS in another level next year.
